View Full Version : Heartfelt Beads- stole money
Hello all. The heartfealt beads are touted by many to be useful for maintaining humidity but there is a problem. The owner of the company is a crook. You can only buy them from their website afaik- In my case I received the wrong size pack and upon returning for the correct size they decided to keep my money and did not send me the new one. All emails have been ignored. I have also found that this has happened to other buyers. DON'T BUY from Heartfelt Industries!!!!
Mine is not the first case of them either not shipping out the product after being charged or of returning the incorrect one and then never getting anything in return. Don't buy from this guy!

Interesting, as my few dealings with them have been great and I'd recommend them to anyone.
I personally contacted David Asp to try and solve the problem. No response.

Sorry that this happened to you. I've always had great service from Heartfelt.
What timeframe are you talking about?
I also find it odd, you sign up to a cigar community to come blast a trusted vendor....

I merged your two threads, we don't allow multiple threads on the same topic from the same user.
How did you come to choose our community to issue your warning?
I have done business with Heartfelt on several occassions and always received stellar service. :2

Hello and welcome to Cigar Asylum -- please take some time to introduce yourself in the new member section and get to know the folks here. Your commentary on vendors will carry more weight if you, I assure you. Otherwise, you risk coming off as someone with an axe to grind. It may be a legitimate gripe, but without the benefit of knowing you a bit, a long-time trusted vendor is going to get the benefit of the doubt.

And FYI, from Heartfelt's website:
Heartfelt Industries will be closed from 9:00 am on July 12th and we will re-open at 8:00 am on July 30th.

There ya go.
I am glad you folks mentioned this. I have no intention to bad mouth anyone. don't judge me by my first post. my only intention is to inform. my last email to them was July 10th.
on another note. thank you for the welcome. I have lurked the forum for over a year now just don't tend to post much on forums. vital stats:
Humidors: Daniel Marshall Treasure chest and Otter box for travel
Smoking haven: Local shops, after detailing the car, home made vented in-home library/office
Smokes: Davidoff, Avo, Padron, Arturo Fuente, and the occ. Cuban

I've ordered from them three or four times. I've never had a problem. One of the times after I placed an order they had to close for a couple of days due to unforeseen circumstances; I received an e-mail apologizing profusely for the delay. I'd have no issues whatsoever with using them again.

Sorry but first impressions are formed from your first post. As the saying goes, you never get a second chance at a first impression.
As for having no intention to bad mouth anyone but only to inform, I disagree. You didn't make us aware of the problem. You called the owner a crook and emphatically said not to buy from Heartfelt. IMHO, that goes way beyond merely informing of an issue.

What Peter said. Calling somebody(s) "crooks" IS, in fact, "badmouthing" them. Especially since many of us here have purchased from them with no problems at all. Not exactly an auspicious start, rxgb. Lucky we are a forgiving bunch, and welcome with open arms most all who visit here. But perhaps the old chess caution is in order: "Look before you leap!" Welcome aboard.

Seems pretty inflammatory right from the start with your thread title, you also state, "Mine is not the first case of them either not shipping out the product after being charged or of returning the incorrect one and then never getting anything in return.", with out any kind of evidence to back that statement up.
I too have bought from them several times and had no issues what-so-ever, many times they have actually shipped things out and I received them sooner than I had expected. Sorry you say you had issues, but maybe there was something in the tone of your emails that rubbed the vendor the wrong way?

I personally don't think Dave has it in him to steal from anyone. Ever. For any reason.
His integrity has never been in question, nor should it be.
I'm certain he'll take care of this once he's back from vacation, despite being insulted. Because he ALWAYS does right by his brothers.
The thread title offends me, and I'm not even Dave.

I'm sure this has to do with their vacation. I was looking to buy beads again but when I saw they would be on vacation and I wanted them asap for my new travel humidor, I decided to try the HCM beads because I could get them right away. I have previously ordered many times from them and never had any issues.

Looks like I need to mow the lawn.
Been good fishin lately.
I like... lamp!
I use some kind of museum beads I bought 15 years ago. Never, ever, heard anything wrong with Heartfelt before, ever.

Yikes… over-react much?!? Dave has always been great in my multiple dealings with him. Sorry you had this experience. I'm sure this will be resolved when he gets back.
Matter of fact, I need to order some more items from him. Thanks for reminding me! :D

The owner of the company is a crook.
Not to belabor the points already made, but permit me to offer a suggestion so that going forward, you can have a more positive experience here at Cigar Asylum, and perhaps in life also.
1) Don't just assume you've been a victim, do your homework, be patient, be circumspect. Had you taken a moment to check his site, you'd know why you haven't heard back.
2) Try a different approach. Your first post here is the equivalent of the proverbial bull in a china shop and says something about what we can expect from you in terms of interaction.
3) Would you want to have a customer like you?
If you had it to do all over again, were it me, the below approach (or something like it) may yield a better outcome:
"Howdy, folks. New member here, but I've been lurking for a long time. I might have a problem and was hoping to get some guidance from the membership. A while back I bought some beads from Heartfelt, and have been trying to resolve an issue related to being shipped the wrong item, but have not received a response from my attempts to contact them. Does anyone here have some experience with them or advice you can offer? Thanks in advance!"
Just sayin'. Not looking to pile on, but thought a specific suggestion might be both helpful and instructive.

^^^^ wise words.
A lot of the cigar world's vendors are not operating on Internet time; meaning that it can take a while for some to respond. As others have mentioned, sometimes you have to do research to find out that there is a reason that you didn't hear back. I know a couple of vendors who take a month off in the summer and don't check email at all. They have someone taking care of web orders, but woe to (s)he who wants to ask a question, etc.
One change I'd make to the intro suggestions. Let the intro thread be about you, not about any specific problem that you are experiencing. Problems come and go but we hope that you are here for the long run. Trust me, people do go back and check your intro thread sometimes to get a handle on who you are.

Actually Adam (and others), he has made a couple more posts. Maybe it is time to cut him some slack, and give him a chance. I think the point has been made. Let's see how things are going forward.

I agree that it is time to cut him some slack. The point has been made.
But I also tend to agree with Adam that we'll likely not see him again.

Point taken, I looked he had one other post and that was in between these and these were the last day he logged on, everyone deserves a second chance.
