I would like to see what everyone has to say about any and all pairings they have experienced. As most of know there are many different pairings that can be put along side a great cigar. Craft Beer, Wiskey, Rum, and Wine. I have my favorites in just about all of these catagories however, lets open this up and see what everyone says is some of their favorites. Also dont hesitate to post pairings that you tried that "Just Didnt Work". Now let the pairing experience begin!!:tu:ss

Good call on the Islay! A while back I had a LP T-52 with some Caol Ila and at first they seemed at odds but the more I smoked and sipped the better they complemented each other.

Honestly, I find this to be true with just about any pairing.

I understand long time smokers don't like infused cigars but my favorite is a Makers Mark 10th anniversary and Makers Mark 46. It may be too simplistic but if you like Makers, stepping up to the 46 and having those 2 compliment each other is a really nice combo.

It depends what I'm smoking with the beverage that I have with my cigar. Sometimes I like something sweet with my 'gar, root beer is my favorite paring with a sweet taste, aged Irish whiskey (Bushmills Malt 16 year aged Irish whiskey):dr is my otherwise favorite paring with just about any medium to full bodied smoke. Your mood will drive or determine what the best paring will be. Bottom line you want to cleanse your pallet and it will differ between cigar, mood and preference.

I really enjoy a Maduro and a Guinness.

Agreed, oatmeal stout is good with maduros too.
I also like scotch with almost anything.
And don't forget Emma Stone

With a nice strong LFD Oscuro or Double Ligero Maduro, like a cuban coffee or Cafe con leche. Also, like to pair with same or similar cigar, a good porter or barley wine that is light on the hops and heavy on the caramel and chocolate malts. Hard to go wrong with Woodford, Blantons, Glenfiddich or Glenmorangie!
With a bit lighter cigar, Shock Top with an orange is great in the summer heat!

Stouts rule with maduros. Coffee also works well with most pairings.

Honestly, and this might stem from the fact that my father let me start smoking cigars when I was 16, but I'm a bit of a fan of smoking a nice full bodied cigar with a glass of cold milk. It's odd, I know, but it's pretty tasty to me...lol

I've been messing around with wine pairings, and have found...

Napa Valley Cabs tend to pair great with fuller bodied maduros like the RoMa Craft Cromagnon.

Chianti tends to work well with cigars like the LFD Double Ligero.

A nice oakey Chardonnay works well with cigars like the Caldwell Eastern Standard.

wine is pretty new to me so it's been fun exploring some wine and cigar pairings. Just be warned that some of my pairing experiments with wine have proven to be terrible :)

I find that a good ginger ale pairs well with most cigars. It seems to have a palate cleansing effect which is nice with fuller bodied sticks. Kinda refreshes the flavors. Rootbeers pair very well with maduros from my experience. Then, of course, there's always a good bourbon :D
