On the hook for movie night tomorrow, but there don't appear to be any clear "must see" movies right now. Anyone got an opinion? Generally favor action/horror/sci-fi... big-screen style movies.

Deciding between:
Transformers (not thrilled, and I don't even think I saw the previous)
Planet of the Apes (still haven't seen the first)
Maleficent (gf kind of wants to see it)
Edge of Tomorrow (not a tom cruise fan, but reviews have been great)

and a dark horse - SnowPiercer (an asian import movie... post apoc.)

Anyone hear anything about these? Seen them?

I've heard lots of good things about Edge of Tommorow and Snowpiercer. Your gf might like EOT because it has a strong female role.

Edge of Tomorrow was pretty good. The plot is interesting even though I guessed it right away. It falls inline with similar "Independence Day" "we're coming to save you from the bad guys" type movies.

I'd see the first "new" POTA movie before I'd go see this one being released tomorrow.

I may end up deciding just based on what's showing by the time I get home today....

I can't see paying to see any of those, the new Tom Cruise Ground Hog Day Futuristic War movie would be the one out of all of those, but only if I could download it and watch it at home.

Speaking of which, I saw that the Snowpiercer movie is already available online, from Amazon, iTunes, and Google Play.

We ended up just renting the 2nd Hobbit movie since neither of us had seen it. None of the movies out this weekend motivated us enough to actually put pants on.

I realized afterwards that we could have just rented Snowpiercer too... next weekend I guess.

You have to wear pants to the movie theatres near you?

What a drag.

I think that's going to become the new method of measuring enthusiasm for a task in our household.

Is it really worth putting pants on for?
