July 1 in Winnipeg seemed more like Glasgow - cold and wet. This didn't deter the crowds from donning red and white and heading out to the Forks.
It cleared up around 4pm, in time for some traditional drumming and dancing by a group of First Nations.
Had dinner in an Argentine restaurant (which was hopping after the football) and a Swiss Regional Por Laranaga to balance things and sympathize with a brave underdog while watching the fireworks.
Sometimes us immigrants come over all patriotic. Oh Canada!
