Very Cool! Happy Birthday!
Love Gordie. Wish I was older so I could have seen him play in person.

I saw Howe play in person many times, but I still wish I was younger! :r

I loved to watch him play. I also enjoyed Bobby Orr.

Happy Birthday Mr. Howe… Johnny Pesky might have the pole at Fenway, but Howe has the "Gordie Howe Hat Trick", a staple of one of my all time favorite players, Cam Neely. Interestingly enough, Howe was not the first one to accomplish this, a goal, an assist and a fight all in the same game, he also only accomplished it twice in his career.
Local newspaper article on his 86th...

saw gordie when i was about 8 years old ... lived in toronto from '63 to '67 ... dad worked part time driving a truck for eatons warehouse ... one day (not sure exactly what year ) gordie was doing a promo for eatons and employees were give a chance to meet him early before the autograph signing began ... dad took me and i was in the room and saw him (but much much too shy to actually meet/talk to him).
