I'm always doing projects like this. Gotta keep busy, y'know.
What goes in place of the steps? Porch? Deck? Looks perfect for a small screen porch.

There will be a porch then back in the back in the next couple of months a screen area.

I thought winter was over here but I am attending with frozen ground still. More pictures tomorrow. We got the old porch removed and dug down. Found out the previous owner used post create for the porch all of it was full of it not an ounce of dirt or sand under the cinder blocks! :gary when I seen that sludge hammer'd out chunks of it the skid steer I have could not lift it at all.
Hope upon hope Sunday evening will find me kicked back with a cold one and a stogie! On my new patio!:noon

Lot of work done there.
Heck, I hate to pick on you but :D you could get a diamond blade for your saw and straighten up that one edge. You can just run a water hose in front of the saw as you cut. Take a little off the second to last course so you don't have to re-lay that whole side. I can just hear this old lady I work for saying for me to tear it all up and put it back down straight. Hindsight being what it is, you should have started from the corner of the house.

On second look, it's only three blocks that are short there. That's not that bad.

Not sure of the solution, or if you care at all, but a tree hates it when you re-establish
ground level further up the trunk. VERY bad for the tree. Will rot the trunk in time.
Or so they say, anyway. Enjoy your projects. Looks good.

I did not know this. I am going to have to look in to this now?

Might just split a 5 gallon bucket that's had the bottom taken out and use half on either side and back fill?
There are solutions out there, I just know that arborists tell you to never mulch up a trunk, to use no mulch at
the trunk and a sloping pile outward, kind of like an ant lion pit. There is a solution somewhere in a pile
of junk, you just have to find it.
