Guy, I am going to be withdrawing from this website due to some health issues that are forcing me to quit smoking cigars. I know that this site is much more than that, but for me, at least now, I am going to need to unwind any and all my connections from the cigar world in order to quit.

I went to the hospital on Sunday as I was experiencing chest pains and I had a mild heart attack. On Monday, the doctors completed a procedure to put a shunt in one of my valves, that was 95% blocked. The other two were ok and it has become very clear that I have serious life style changes to make. I have a lot of weight to lose as well.

I have really loved it here to learn about cigars, but so much more. You guys are so giving and thoughtful and I really appreciate it over the years. I wish you all the best and thanks again for all you have given me. Best wishes. Steve

P.S. I know that I am extremely lucky and this was my wake up call, so I am very grateful.

Sorry to see you having to go, but the reason behind it's the right one. I hope the best for you in your new endeavor.

Remember like you said that is much more to this community than the common interest of cigars.

I kinda suspect we all worry a bit about the Doc telling us to stop the cigars. Mine tells me it would be good to do but I'm so healthy it's not hurting me. If he said it was I would stop right then.
Thoughts and prayers for you to turn this around and have many more years to find other things to enjoy.

Very sorry to hear about your heart attack. As a registered nurse who works in a cardiac critical care unit, I see every day, just how scary it can be.

I sincerely hope that you can keep your resolve because tobacco does play a very bad part in all that.

And, as a guy who is overweight, smokes cigars, and drinks spirits, I applaud your strength and desire to do the right thing.

I fight in the hopes to show enough moderation and self control to stave off those kind of issues.

Kudos to you on this big step!

And may you enjoy a long life enjoying your loved ones and any other hobby that you choose to replace this with.
:salute:

Steve, good luck and you have my prayers tonight for your health. We understand the decision although we don't have to like it but it's your health and that's the most important thing to take care of. What's the point of cigars if you're not around to smoke them? Please be well and get yourself to a much healthier place in your life. If you ever need anything please don't hesitate to ask. God Bless my friend!

You guys are the best and thank you so much for all the well wishes and prayers. I really appreciate them to be sure. I have been doing great actually; can't believe how much better I feel now after the blockage has been removed. I have been exercising and totally changing my lifestyle from a food and nutrition perspective. It's been a neat journey so far and I've lost a little over 15 pounds and still working at it. Feel great and really missed coming here. This really is a special site not just because of cigars, but all the other interests that are discussed and more than anything the genuine caring that members here have for each other. Anyway, I'm doing very good and actually still smoking cigars, somewhat to my wife's dismay. I don't inhale, although I do the nose inhale thing whatever that's called. I told my doctor its my one vice that I don't want to give up and I thoroughly enjoy it. So, glad to be back with you guys and thanks again for all the wishes. Steve

Good news Steve.

What I've underlined in your post is what makes CA special. So even if you do have to give up cigars one day, there is no reason to give up Cigar Asylum.
