So I've been working on covering a bar stool with nothing but Oliva, Cain, Nub, and Studio Tobac cigar bands for quite a while now. Today I finally finished it. Now I just have to clear coat it. Here it is.

LOL, I think I want to do a few more "themed" seats. I really want to do an AKA bar stool and I would love to do an opus x stool.
Nice Earl! alot better than my "stool" sample :tu

Nice work.
That is very well done. Outstanding design and patience exhibited. Looks like no poly or anything yet?

now that would be a very intricate, very expensive stool to make. I say go for it :D

I might have to ask some folks on here for some help with the opus bands, but I'm not dumb enough to start a thread asking for cigar bands. I know how that one ends....and it ain't pretty. If I decided to cover one with opus bands, it would take me a very long time to complete it. I think my next one will just be random cigar bands, as I smoke.

That looks really great! What did/ are you going to use for the clear coat/ protective coat?

I will be using a combination of spray on mod-podge and an automotive clear coat. The mod-podge goes on first(it doesn't do anything to the cigar bands) and the other one goes on top of that.

SWEET! I've been doing something similar with a lamp shade and so far it's coming out great. Great idea my friend!
