Now I love "White Christmas" by The Drifters and I love to sing along with it, but by far "O Holy Night" is my Christmas favorite. The version I love the most is by John Berry. I saw his video in the Christmas of 1996 when I was dealing with some very low and difficult times in my life. I was at rock bottom for a long spell and this one video viewing one late December afternoon nearly single-handedly started my turn-around. Silly, right? The song just struck a chord in me that day. I'm still moved today when I hear it. It really does add a special meaning to each of my Christmas holidays.

So what's yours? Maybe a little 'why', too.

Either of Red Sovine's Christmas songs. They are the most pathetically SAD bits of music ever, just can't take 'em seriously.

Hands down my favorite is Trans Siberian Orchestra's version of Carol of the Bells. Number two is a tie between We Three Kings and Good King Wencelas.

Not to spoil the fun, and I haven't yet contributed anything to this thread, but I think some people are seriously missing the point of the OPs message.

EDIT: or not. Since he posted a silly song, too. Eh, forget this post is here........carry on.

Dave, it's a serious note if there's something to that point. I know a lot of folks may have never have a situation that creates feels I get when I hear "O Holy Night". That's cool. Life is funny like that.

And, yes, carry on...it's cool to know other's tastes.

Bing Crosby's Do You Hear What I Hear
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuE_DXrt2Js

I used to run a paper route in high school and drive around a small town at age 14 early early in the mornings. The country station would play Christmas songs a lot before the regular song rotations would start that sprinkled a Christmas song every half hour or so.
This is one of my favorites that they played every morning.
Yep, good times, a 1970 something green pinto station wagon, full of papers, single digit temps, and me running around the town before I had my license with the town cop's blessing because he was cool like that!
