Question for a buddy to some buddies

So a guy I have known for awhile has a sherlock with a built in screen and its been clog awhile and he can't enjoy it. Any suggestions on the cleaning and not ruining of the pipe? I messaged him to bring it to our smoking session at the B&M tonight and I will post pics later.

Are you sure it is built in? He might be able to remove it, and give the bowl a good reeming, and then clean the shank. Or get a Pipe retort.
