Welp, snow has fallen in the Mitten State, and I'd like to get a few sticks that "go well" with this time of year. What are some cold weather smokes that you guys would suggest?

Oh, one of my old boss' smoked a stick that smelled EXACTLY like hot chocolate. Does anybody have an idea as to what that could have been? He's not in town anymore so I am unable to ask.

None smell like chocolate all are quick smokes that I enjoy during the cold months and don't wanna pay cover at the B&M to smoke cigars I didn't buy there!! Hope this helps!

Now that the temps have started dropping here in KY, I'll be following the recommendations on this thread closely.

Same here even in west coast Florida. Finally getting weather in the 70's and even occasional high 60's. Nice to be able to have a stick outdoors with some low humidity! :tu

Chocolate smelling smoke may have been a Drew Estate Java. They smell good enough to friggin' eat. Just make sure to store them in a seperate humi or else they'll stink up the rest of your sticks. Trust me on this one.

Anything that takes less than 40 minutes to smoke yet still enjoyable. I also enjoy the tins of cigarillos that AVO makes.

I had a Padron 3000 a couple months back that was a few years old. I swear up and down it had the most prominent cocoa taste I've ever experienced in a non-infused. I'm not sure if it was the age or what. It was a bit large for a cold weather smoke though.

I enjoy the Holtz Shorties, they are decent and really quick smoke.

The Padron Corticos are a great quick smoke(or tailgaiting as I use them for, gotta love the tin to protect em a bit). Curivari Petit Cafes as well.

Munky hooked me up with a CABAL short robusto. Couple shops in Texas have them, he can probably tell you where. One of the best short smokes I've had in a while.

I've always rather liked the (NC) Partagas Black Prontos.

I agree. Very good little smoke.

So far, I have found the 5 Vegas Cask to be a great Cold weather stick, where as my usual Camacho Connecticut just wasn't as "well suited" for cold weather. YMMV. More experimentation to come...

I think the Padron 3000 and 2000 have the most dominant cocoa flavors of any cigar I have ever tried. Age helps them, but even the ones I've smoked right off the shelf at my B&M have had very strong cocoa flavors.

I really like those for a relatively quick smoke. Fuente Short Stories are another of my favorites (even when it's not cold out) but it seems they can take a while to get through too.

The local B&M doesn't have those specific Padrons, nor does CI. Though, I could just be looking in the wrong places. The Casa Magna Colorado is quite nice in the bitter weather.

Another vote for the Special G Maduro. Just bought ten of these off the devil site. Tasty and you can smoke it before hypothermia sets in!

Illusione Rothchildes: seem to work well above, at, and below freezing (my personal best has been around 20 degrees F). And by the time you have had enough of the cold, the cigar is down to the stub.

Had this 5 Vegas. It was a nice quick one for being outside in 15 degree weather

Some updating: I've found that Camacho Triple Maduros and (she's a...) Brick House cigars are quite nice, even in the cold.

Short smokes suit this Southern boy transplanted to Joisey. One I keep in my permanent rotation, regardless of the weather, is the JR Ultimate Habanitos in maduro. I've found this an outstanding and dependable 20-30 minute smoke, and at only 40 bucks for a box of 24 they fit my tight budget also.

I just put some of the best, short, winter sticks on the WTS page.
