View Full Version : Cigars You Take For Granted

I fired up a Perdomo Lot 23 Maduro Robusto today. I always have a few of these on hand and kind of take them for granted, but they're always tasty, always well constructed, and never disappoint. So, what cigars do you take for granted? In other words, smokes that you always have a few on hand, are consistently good, but don't get the attention that you give to your "sexier" cigars?

Curivari anything. They're finally starting to get the press they deserve. Only one line in their entire portfolio I dislike.

Not cigars that don't get attention in the press, I'm asking about cigars that you see in your stash and go "meh" and grab something flashier. But that "meh" cigar is a good one that you always enjoy when you do finally smoke one.

AF 8-5-8 is another one for me.

Of course I agree with the 601 Blues...smoked a TON of them and never had a bad one.

Another one that flies way under the radar is the El Rey Del Mundo Oscuro. :dr :dr

Gran Habano #5 Corojo
G.A.R.

I don't reach for a corojo first nearly as often as I used to, but these two are always on hand and always satisfy.

Good thread.

Torano Exodus 1959 Gold fits the bill you describe. I'm always pulling around them in the cooler, but whenever I decide to fire one up, I'm reminded I should notice that beauty more often.

Black Crown robustos. Also PDR Oscuros. No flash, but they do the trick every time.

Never had the G.A.R.
I do however appreciate the #5, great every day smoke for me.

La Aurora 107, RyJ Bully, Perdomo Lot 23. The 107's are my go to smokes, the others are always in one of my humidors, and I regularly enjoy all of them, while "special occasion" cigar these are not, I certainly like them.

I agree with the Perdomo Lot 23 and 601 Blues, always excellent cigars. I also find that my Fuente Hemingway Short Stories fall into this category. I tend to overlook them in the humi because I have had so many of them, but they are always a treat to smoke.

Man O War Ruination and Padilla 32. I think the Padilla's are no longer in production but I've a bunch and I haven't bought any Ruination's in over a year but still have a few in the humidor somewhere. I may have to dig one out to remind myself again why I liked them so much.

I agree with these, especially the AAA, with some forgotten age, they are immaculate...

The Ruination is pretty good but not a favorite of mine, and if you have any Padilla 32's you wanna get rid of you should PM this guy right here... :lr

All of my collection. Sucks that I don't have/make enough time for them these days. One a week if I'm lucky. Here's to hoping they only get better with age...
