I never thought I'd have a cigar that early in the morning but one day after getting a bomb it was a about 0600 and I took the weiner dog for a walk and wanted to try a stick a I was gifted so I thought what the hell. Grabbed a Genesis Project Scotty sent me and it was very very enjoyable! I'm only working part time so on mornings I don't work or work a shift that starts between 1000-1200 I go for a 2-3 mile walk and enjoy a cigar. I would not do that if I had to be there by 0800 as I would not want my coworkers to smell me or frankly would not want to smell myself. And I'm not getting up at 0500 for a cigar for a morning shift.

So curious if you have a cigar for breakfast do you have a good to stick? Mine is typically a Undercrown Corona Viva. Anyone care to share?

and don't tell anybody, but I really like a certain cbid dollar stick in the morning: Tierra del Sol -- only in maddie and only the corona size. Every other size and wrapper is crap, but this one really works for me -- a mild chocolate stick that complements coffee perfectly

back when i worked at a b&m it was a lot of cusano 18's and oliva ct's with a cup of coffee to start the day. BUT, my ideal way to start the day is a pl montecarlo, perfect size and shape for the mornings (of course with coffee as well)

RJE4 works for me too, but im down to my last half-cabinet so i have been having a Party PC. Like the E4, they are the perfect size to get me from my garage to my office in traffic. I usually pull in to work just as my fingers start to burn.

The cigar I want to taste every bit of, LFD Double Ligero, Opus X, strong CC. I have noticed lately that as the day goes on my taste buds get duller.

Be even sweeter if I could afford them muchness have them on hand for breakfast!

I do not have much experience with GoF. Probably only had 3 in my life. The places around here that sell them are in the $30+ range.

Hahaha nice! I remember when I was a rookie a guy at the club suggested a LFD DL Digger. I had it on an empty stomach. Damn near puked. It was my hazing as the new guy. So all week long, 7 days in a row I smoked that sucker just to prove I was "man enough" to get through it (hindsight is always 20/20 after all.) Since that week the LFD DL aren't even strong for me anymore. I get more of a buzz off the Camacho Triple Maduro (if it will stay lit) than a LFD DL. I really like Lito's cigars. We had plans to go to Big Smoke this year as we had vendor passes but as life happens, life happens but Lito and Jorge Padron were the two gentleman I was most excited to meet.

Ha! I still remember that first digger and how I was in like a medical experiment or in the movie "Armageddon" when they are meeting with the psychiatrists in that odd room and they pan back and see other Dr's piering in through the window. I felt like that.

My favorite morning smoke was the HdM du depute. I believe they were from 1999 or so. Great smokes, but never tried any that are fresher.

I used to love getting up just at dawn and sitting on the deck with one, watching the fog over the lake.

Now I sleep in. :D

Anything on the milder end is a breakfast smoke for me. Avos, Davidoffs, SC Elegancias, Oliva V Melanios, and Tat Black Petite Lanceros are amongst my favorite breakfast sticks.

Eek. I may be able to purchase a few for you here in Texas but they go for around $20 a pop and are only at one B&M store in town. Not an everyday smoke mind you, but a great day off/morning breakfast smoke. :dr

Because I work in the restaurant business I'm usually working late and sleeping in so I don't often have a morning cigar. But on the rare occasion I do on a day off I'll usually have a Por Larranaga Panetela or A Hoyo Epi #2 with some coffee.

Since your palate is the freshest it's going to be all day during morning hours, if I smoke, I smoke my favorite cigar to get all out of it as possible. Strength shouldn't be a factor, imo.

5 Vegas Gold treats me well... usually I'm smoking sweet/infused, but I get enough sweet out of my coffee, so something mild, creamy, and not overpowering (in either strength, tobacco flavor, or "added" flavor) is a good match for me.

I don't get to smoke much in the mornings anymore since I no longer have to commute to work but I would imagine the Herrara Esteli would make a fine breakfast smoke. It's been a number of years since I have had the dreaded morning commute but back than the Casa Torano and one of the Taboo blends were often my morning commute cigar. Throwing Taboo out there goes to show how long it's actually been. On the rare occasions that I so have an early stick which nowadays tends to be early afternoon I usually reach for a EPC New Wave. Mild but packs a bunch of great flavor.

"I would not want my coworkers to smell me or frankly would not want to smell myself"

I am surprised by how many cigar smokers whose comments I read on discussion boards apparently don't like the smell of a freshly smoked cigar.

Man, I love coming back into a room an hour after I smoked. What's that smell? Cigar.

Any cigar can be suitable in the morning.

It definitely wasn't the Twist, I honestly can't remember it's been so long but it was a maduro wrapped stick. Pretty mild but packed a bunch of great flavor. Once I do the move into the tower this weekend I honestly wouldn't be surprised if I found a few buried in the back of one of the humis.:D

I myself don't mind smelling cigar smoke shortly after one has been smoked in a room but I honestly despise the old stale cigar smoke smell like when I smell my clothes the following morning or when I am the first one through the door in the morning of the cigar lounge. This is why I would never smoke in my house even if my wife were on board with it.
