It's an attempt, but yet a failure. I prefer the v-cut. I do not prefer this cutter.
Best v-cutter I have is a very cheap matte black plastic. Makes a very deep and clean cut. 1 blade, not 2.

Used this yesterday on one stick. Gonna have to give it another whirl some other day. Wasn't impressed with it and went back to my Xikar X8 for the rest of the afternoon.

this monte one is very sloppy, not worth the amount of effort you need to put into cutting a cap in my opinion

I've thought about getting one of these: http://www.famous-smoke.com/quad+stainless+table+cutter/item+22953

Think I've seen them on the monster for $40, but it's a little harder to put in your pocket.

So the Xicar V-Cutter is the way to go? There's a couple on the devilsite and I'm debating putting a bid in.

I've had good luck with the cheap CI V-cutter... mine has gone about 1-year now and is just starting to dull (used 3-4 times a week). I grabbed it on a CBid order for $2 or $3, but they're $10/2 on CI all the time. I've had other cheap V-cutters that would tear badly, especially coming out through the wrapper.
