Always do, always will.
Left my country of birth for this great land and have never looked back.

Brad - so right! Thanks for the reminder. With all the Memorial Day sales and barbecues, we often overlook that which ought to be remembered and those who should be revered. There are two in my family who contributed to just what your banner's second line is about.

Happy memorial day weekend. And thank you to past/present members of our armed forces for your service.

When I was young and disrespectful, I had no idea why war veterans would don uniforms from so long ago. I never gave them a second glance. Maybe my mind couldn't comprehend the sacrifices they, their brothers, and their friends made. Or maybe I was just an asshole.

If you have the chance this weekend, and you see someone in uniform, shake their hand and give them a thank you. They are the reason you're enjoying what is left of this once great country. The great country they believed in and fought to protect from enemies foreign and domestic. For most of us, THEY are the reason WE are here today. Most people SAY they want to help change the world. These gentlemen/women DID.

Thank you for your service, gents and ladies of our US armed forces. For having the courage many of us don't.
