Was cutting the grass with the headphones on and Fortunate Son by CCR came on. Love that guitar intro! Got me to thinking about some other favorites...
Allman Brothers Berry Oakley's bass intro on Whipping Post
Lou Reed and the Velvet Underground - intro to the Live version of Sweet Jane
ACDC - Back in Black maybe the best
Derrick & the Dominos - Duane Allman's slide guitar on Layla
many more.....

Totally agree, but slight correction - Not Velvet Underground.
The one you're thinking of is from Lou Reed "Rock 'N Roll Animal",
live from NYC in 1973, with Dick Wagner playing magnificently on
lead guitar. Wagner is a most underrated guitarist, but as any fan
of early Alice Cooper knows, he has some serious chops.:)
