Aristocrat Has Landed

So she landed today , just a couple hours before i had to go to work.

She makes the 46" samsung look tiny.

Unfortunately i damaged it opening it up. Purely cosmetic , so i gotta get in touch with bob and see about getting a bit of the stain he uses so i can sand it down and refinish that little bit. I was pissed when it got here because the box was crushed , Fedex had obviously set something heavy on top of it. More pictures when i get back from work in a couple days. She gets to season in the meantime.

Thanks guys. I am out of town for work right now but mlady reports shes holding solid at 65rh. She should be ready to start filling when i get back. I will take some more pictures once i get her in her final resting place.

I needed to tweak the door when she got here. But 5 minutes on the phone wiyh bob and a screwdriver and i had her sorted out. Long trip between texas and rural alberta. I was pissed when it got here because they had obviously set someyhing heavy on top of it when it was clearly marked not to. I nicked it with my knife opening it up which sucks but bob and i are working on a game plan for me do a field repair on it.

Im thrilled with the quality of the piece and Bobs virtually unmatched customer service. Thanks Bob.

Well guys i have some bad news. The humidty hit the door and it went BOING. Its warped beyond repair. One of those things. It went from 70f @80 or 90%RH to -30f And 0%RH. Then i just plugged er in and walked out the door to work for 3 days. I should have brought the RH up slowly but i was in a rush to get on my way to work. Its still holding a perfect RH but its going through alot of water. 3 of the corners on the door are no longer making contact with the seal.

Bobs gonna build a replacement. And since he is sending me a new door anyways im geting a quote on a Sapele insert door :)

Yep. Bob took his time and handpicked the pieces for this door. He then built it and let it acclamate down there for a couple weeks. He put it on a cabinet on friday and turned on the humidity to make sure its stable. It should be leaving here this week. Also waiting on some beads from Michael.

I did end up upgrading to a sapele insert. Bob said its a sexy looking door so im excited for some pictures. Bobs been nothing short of excellent to deal with.
