View Full Version : Casa Fuente in Las Vegas. Color me unimpressed.

I'm in Las Vegas for the SHOT Show, and "everybody" said "you have to go to Casa Fuente".

Meh, it's way, way, way, way over priced, and really nothing special. I didn't even bother to take pictures (and I love to take pictures).

One star at best.

I have heard the same.... How is the Shot Show!!! Anything new and exciting?

Casa Fuente is what it is.... A cigar lounge, on the Las Vegas Strip, filled with Fuente HTF's, in the middle of a shopping mall. That in itself is so out of the ordinary, it is worth a stop, if in the area. It is also smaller than I expected, high priced(I did expect this) and was SUPER CROWDED when I was there.

IMO it is like going to Yellowstone and seeing Old Faithful... A place you make an effort to see if you're there and never have.....how you interpret the experience is secondary, it is that you have the experience.

When I'm back in Vegas, if I'm in the exact area, I'll probably go back... Not because I was so impressed last time, but because I didn't actually sit, have a drink and smoke....

Maybe that is like going to Yellowstone, getting to Old Faithful and then leaving before it does its thing.....:r

I love to sit at Casa Fuente, have a Mojito/cigar and people watch. Yes, the cigars are over priced, but it's not like you go there to buy your everyday cigars...My lady even enjoys sitting and watching too.

Right on! And why would guys on a Cigar Forum want pictures of anything cigar related anyway? Give us pics of guys at shooting clubs, that's what cigar smokers want.

I heard that all of Casa Fuente's cigars are fake. Glad that Chief didn't get taken in by the cheap glitz and big tits. Now, let's hear all about how you went all the way to Vegas to meet up with people you don't know just to shoot at clay targets. Sounds suspiciously like a herf to me.

I like Casa Fuente -- my wife can shop and I can have a cigar a drink and watch a game. It's not the only place I have cigars in Vegas, but I always try to go there at least once each trip.

Yes it is overpriced. What isn't overpriced in Vegas these days?

That's the great thing here -- you don't like it so you don't have to go there. I do like it and I can (and do) go there.

I heard that all of Casa Fuente's cigars are fake.

I highly doubt that the Casa Fuente cigars are fake. While not owned by the Fuente Family, there is a direct relationship between Casa Fuente and Arturo Fuente.

As for Casa Fuente itself, I love the place. I agree that the cigars are expensive. If you buy anything other then the "Casa Fuente" House Brand, you will be paying a huge markup. The House Brand cigar is a great stick, and while expensive, I believe it is worth buying at least 1-2, especially if you buy the Lancero.

I also enjoy the Mojito's at Casa Fuente- best I have had in Vegas.

I have yet to find a better place to just sit, smoke a cigar, and do some people watching.

just my :2

My Wife picked me up a couple sticks from Casa Fuente when she was there in Nov. The AF's were 2x normal price but the Diamond Crowns were a bit cheaper than online prices....go figure :sh
She said the place was cool, for what it was, and would be happy to go back there for a Mojito while I had a smoke.:tu

Way,way, way over priced? Just try to imagine the overhead that place has and trying to pay it on cigars and drinks. You have to pay the price for the experience if you want it.

I like going to the Davidoff store in Mandalay Bay - its a lot smaller than CF but I like gambling at Mandalay and having a cigar. Prices are higher than usual but not extravagant.

I agree, CF is expensive but definitely worth a visit.

I really like going there. My new favorite is the casa fuente cigar. That's one you can't get anywhere else so that makes it a little special. The way I look at it, every night in Vegas your gonna drop a good deal of cash each night. So one night I eat upstairs at sushi roku then stop at casa fuente. Works out to about the same amount of cash as a show or blackjack beating.

I've never been to Vegas. If I ever get there, I want to see Casa Fuente. I'll certainly sit down and smoke a cigar. It certainly won't be the first time I've bought a ridiculously overpriced cigar, or paid an exorbitant price for a couple glasses of wine for Weeze.

I like John's take on it. I'd FAR rather lose the money at Casa than drop it at the blackjack table. I'm a victim of every vice in the world, but thank God I don't take any joy from losing money gambling. I just want to see Vegas for the architecture and boobs, that's all.

Good place to see some boobs while you puff away. Bring your own and just order some drinks. If you prefer not to smoke in the courtyard of a mall, it's best to stay inside.

I don't care for the place, but I spend several hours there at least a couple of times a year.

Great Atmosphere - Free
Perfectly Poured Mojito - $15
Story Between The Lines - $35

Epic Boobs All Around- Priceless

That averages out to like $10 per item. :D

You aren't forced to buy a cigar in CF.
The cocktail waitresses are pretty darn sexy.

I enjoy relaxing there with a mojito.

I also like smoking outside at the Rhum Bar outside of the Mirage.
Great atmosphere.

A couple guys mentioned the $35 BTL. Aren't Casa Fuente's in that $30-$35 ballpark? I've had a bunch across the years, seems that's about what I gave up for them. I know they aren't very good, but it's the house blend. That'd probably be a good choice for the atmosphere.
I'd probably spend the extra 15 bucks and get the $50 Anejo. I'd just consider the 35 bucks as admission.
How do the prices run on the other smokes there?

Casa Fuente is in one of the world's most distinctive malls with a grand sense of place and fun.
The staff is friendly. Manager Michael Fayerverger is a witty guy from Chicago -- good kibbitzer. If the cigars are too spendy, BYO.
Plenty of good restaurants, including Joe's Stone Crab, Cheesecake Factory, The Palm and P.J. Clarke's in the Forum Shops. Awesome restaurants like Rao's, Beijing Noodle No. 9 and Mesa Grill inside Caesars.
And the people watching is terrific.

Been to Casa Fuente several times, will always stop by when we're in Vegas. No, it's not cheap...welcome to Vegas....;) Fuente HTF's you can't find most places, fantastic Mojito's, solid single malt and bourbon selection, great staff. Last time, I sat at the bar and sampled the single malt's while smoking a Casa Fuente lancero. A good time, to be sure.

One of the few places you can smoke a cigar and have no one look at you in disgust. I love Casa Fuente. I order a drink, smoke my own cigars and no one bothers me. The waitresses are friendly and they have a TV setup to watch games.

Have you tried smoking a cigar in a sports book recently. You even get looks in the casinos these days.

I know the drinks are not cheap, but considering a Corona will cost you $7 at a club. $12 for a good sized and strong drink works for me.

The way I see it, I usually save money at Casa Fuente. Two hours of smoking means no money lost at the tables. :r

Negatory.

Everything NOT Casa Fuente is huge mark up. The Casa Fuente's themselves average between $17-23 depending on vitola. I always make it a point to go there for scotch and cigars. This is bc I love the experience and the Casa Fuente lancero is my absolute favorite NC. Honestly for the experience and ~$20 a stick I don't mind it at all. When I don't want to smoke a Casa Fuente or pay a huge chunk, Pheasant Run is the place to go.

Hope that helps if you ever make it to the desert Scott!

While I agree that it can be pricey for cigars at Casa Fuente, you have to try to put it in perspective.

How often do you get to go to Vegas and hang out in an iconic place like Casa Fuente?

Really though...if you're in Las Vegas and if 35 bucks is gonna break you, maybe Vegas wasnt a good destination choice to begin with. It's not like you're gonna buy 3 to smoke there & 6 more to take home with you.

Like others have said, its a small price to pay for the experience.

I guess it's all a matter of opinion. I go to Vegas all the time, and the experience wasn't that great.

I can think of half a dozen nicer cigar places I'd rather hang out.

It is a matter of opinion, that's 100% true.

Personally, my first time at Casa Fuentes was awesome, not really because of just where I was at, but rather the "whole" experience which was being there with a whole gang of friends living it up and having a blast. For me a location itself is not as important as the the friends I'm there with. Hell, I have the fondest memories when friends & I were in just in a plain ol garage or on some ordinary patio.:tu
