I read the story of the "confession" and they said Te'o was talking on the phone to a 9 year old girl. Then I read this story (http://network.yardbarker.com/college_football/article_external/fake_girlfriend_reportedly_told_manti_teo_she_fake d_death_to_avoid_drug_dealers/12698620) that says Te'o finally guessed it was a hoax after the girlfriend called and said that she wasn't dead and only faked her death to hide from drug dealers.
I thought "this is a pretty advanced 9 year old."

The issue now it that he allegedely knew on December 6th that this was a hoax, but continued to reference how her death motivated him in interviews on December 8th and December 10th.

Word is that he is now dating Fawn Leibowitz.
