There was a discussion awhile back about those of us who can't smoke in the house and winter. Well my son and I have been a little busy lately. We made some modifications to the garage.

Nice Mike! During the winter months I'm resorted to smoking in the mobile lounge, aka my Jeep. It sucks but I make do. I need a man cave badly.
I just pretend I am aging my cigars during winter and hope to get a smoke in at my local B&M.

I've been kicking the idea of insulating my shed (already has power) and adding a heater and ventilation system. However in the winter it stores all the deck furniture not to mention mower, trimmer, etc. This thread has me thinking about just doing it and figuring the rest out later. I am envious of you Mike!

How big is the garage? Does it take long to heat with only 17,000 BTU's?

For the winter months, I just put socks on and go outside. The socks protect me from the 60 degree weather. Short/Shirt optional. Typical smoking attire: Boxers & Socks.

I think he's a little confused. :sl. He meant to say 10,000W (~34,000BTUs). 650CFM... :banger

Been hitting low 30's here at night. I set up a tabletop
propane heater on the back deck for the wussy boys,
while I sit out without a coat & barefoot. About 8:00
or so, I give in & invite them to finish our smokes in
the living room. Queen B!tch doesn't mind, so long as
we use the bathroom down the hall. Picky, picky....:ss

... And thats what my smoking shelter is. My buddies make fun of my tarp tent, aka "The Bum Hut". But it covers my chair and side table with my lighters and stinky. I have a small heater to knock the chill off the night. The tarp just basically blocks the wind. Its ugly, but effecient.

It doesn't take much to make you happy now does it.... However once "she who controls the purse strings" see's that "new and improved" electric bill she might have you back out on the porch. :D

The wife put the kibosh on turning the basement into a smoking area so i bought a nice patio heater for the garage. Fantastic purchase for $90 on sale. I dont even have to close the garage just kick back under this bad boy and smoke away.

We were all members at a local B&M and they made some bad choices that left us all with a bitter taste. So we decided to build our own lounge. its pretty nice. Your always welcome we have our group herf on thursday nights but can always join on other nights as well. Send me an emil if your ever headed our way.

I have been getting away with a pipe in my basement....in fact, I did smoke a cigar down there too with no complaints. It's chilly, but a hell of a lot warmer than outside.

I technically can smoke in the house, but tend not to very often, especially if my son is home. I have a basement that currently looks like a set leftover from Sanford and Son but plan on making it into a lounge once all this holiday madness is behind us. I'll post pics once I get moving on it. It's been a mild season so far here in MD but it's now starting to get chilly.

How i miss the seasons. It was cold last night around 75, I had to put pants on down here in Puerto Rico. I am not rubbing it in, but I miss smoking in my garage when it is snowing outside. I used a space heater too, had a nice garage, antique table and some additional camping chairs for my friends. Cheers
