Here are a few crappy pics of the new house. Nothing grand, but I think its great for our first little home. 2 bed, 1 bath. Small but nice. And its only the two of us so its not like we need anymore space. Porch now has 2 rockers and a side table so I can sit out there and enjoy a cigar.

Everything is pretty much done. Pics are from the day after moving in. Only big thing left to do is buy a second bedroom set and patio furniture. Exciting to finally own a home, but damn theres always something to do!:r

If I had the choice of what I wanted my first house to be: you nailed it on the head. Additionally, I like the Keep Calm and Carry On poster. Classy AF.

Looks nice and cozy! My GF and I did the same thing 2 years ago. Like you said there is always something to do (which isn't always a bad thing), and it's a helluva feeling to be able to call it your own! Congrats!

Robert, Congrats bro! This is a great house.....wished I would have went for something like this instead of going big (will never have multi level house again....unless there is a basement, and we all know why) But I'm happy for you and your g/f this is a great 1st house. :banger

Thanks for all the kind words everyone!:) We are very happy and lucky to have the house. Its great when you pull in the driveway and know its your own.

Bonus points for having a yard and plenty of outdoor space to enjoy a cigar:noon

Congrats Brother!!!

The floors are the only thing inside here that is original to the house! They were the first thing I noticed when I came to the open house. Place was built in 1930.

Nice place. Our first wasn't near as nice. Like that paved brick walk.
We like the sidewalk too. We have a side patio that has the pavers also. Debating on replacing the river rock driveway with pavers eventuallly too.

The shed you can kind of see outback is 200 sq ft. We want to extend the paver patio to it, finish the inside and make it like an entertainment/lounge room for when we have people over. But thats down the road. No projects until at least next year.

:r Thats how I would describe it too, cute. My g/f's girly touches are definitely visible. Love you more, Always Kiss me goodnight, Keep Calm and Carry On.....all her stuff.

But, I thought I would get ahead of the saying "happy wife, happy life". Not married yet, but the stuff makes her happy.:tu

Thanks!

There isn't literally a back yard. More like front and sides only on a corner lot:r

At the back of the house is the driveway which is all river rock (i think thats what its called) and that goes the length of the house in back. There is a mudroom on the back, plus the bulkhead door to the celler, so there isn't any room for a backyard. And the shed takes up the rest of the property in the back on the other corner.

That might not make any sense :r:r

So I am told. Already hear the comments from other people. "oh, you live in hamilton?" in a smartass comment tone. :r I'm from KY so I dont really understand. But my g/f is from Andover, she gets the same thing if she ever says thats where she is from. I guess I'm just out of the loop.

Nice place, brother. Best of luck to both of you there. Here's hoping it will not be too great a "money trap". :tu

Conratulations, that is a beautiful house! I lived in a very similar Sears Kit House as one of my first. I cant tell if yours is a Craftsman or a Sears, but it was an excellent choice. You may have to insulate and heat that shed so you have a winter smoking lounge! :D
