Looks neat. How does it work? The picture makes the hole look pretty small.

Yeah thats the small side, will cut 30? The other side will cut maybe 42? And the centernot pictured is a v cut, should be up to a 42/ maybe 48

I'm still confused by the thing. It looks like a bottle opener to me. Do you have any other pictures of it?

Yes, I'll post more pics of it. If you google Pfielring Solingen or Donatus cigar cutters you will find more info. I'll try to have more pics up tonight.

The notch on the left side is used to open cigar boxes by pulling the nail out.

Cool looking cutter. Am curious about what size it will cut.

Different models have different size openings around the cutter.

I have two full size ones, both by Donatus - one has identical sized holes on the sides, looks to be about good for probably 36-38RG give or take, while the front V-cut is probably about 42-44. The other has different size holes on the sides - a 36-38 on one side, 42-ish on the other, 47-49 on the v-cut. Both cutters are almost exactly the same size, the only difference is the larger cutting head on one of them.

I also have a tiny pocket model that is Dunhill branded, the sides on it are probably only about 32, and the v-cut is about 40.

(all RG sizes approximated by eye)

I just looked at some pictures. I have a much better understanding of how it works now.

Last I used one of those was when I was stationed in Germany during the 70's. I forgot about them till now. Thanks for the memories...... :)

I may have to pick one up just because. ;)
