I just jumped on a double happiness sampler that contains the following:
1 - 5 Vegas Triple-A Two-Headed Monster (10” x 48)
1 - Diesel Two-Headed Monster (10” x 48)
1 - Double Happiness Two-Headed Monster (10” x 48)
1 - Graycliff G2 Two-Headed Monster (10” x 48)
1 - Graycliff Turbo Two-Headed Monster (10” x 48)
1 - Gurkha Blue Two-Headed Monster (10” x 48)
1 - Gurkha Red Two-Headed Monster (10” x 48)
1 - Man O’ War Two-Headed Monster (10” x 48)
1 - Man O’ War Ruination Two-Headed Monster (10” x 48)
1 - Padilla Achilles Two-Headed Monster (10” x 48)
Most of these cigars I like, a couple I haven't had. That being said, my thoughts are that once I get them, I'll cut them in half, effectively giving me 20 normal sized cigars... Anyone else done this? I tried to search "double happiness" and didn't get much...

I'd be interested on your take on this. I decided not to pull the plug when I saw it last year. My gut feeling is that they will smoke "weird" no matter how you slice them.

Seemed like a gimmick to me.

Keep in mind, you're talking to the same guy that smoked an entire Puros Indios Chief 18x66 in just over 4 hours... These puny 10x48's are nothing! :D

Aren't you supposed to cut both ends, punch the middle, light both ends and smoke it from the middle? :ss

I read a website on these... they are specially rolled apparently... the manufacturer wanted the cigars to perform both as 1 freaking long cigar... and as 2 robusto's.... there are you tube videos of guys spending hours in their basement smoking these... one guy said it lasted for a full 4 hour drive... apparently some blends produce more resin as they smoke down and the tip may need to be trimmed to allow for a better draw... but there ya go...
Apparently the Ruination in the 9 in configuration kicks ass...
Anyway... hope you enjoy...!!

Barry (Bscottskangum) bought this almost two years ago. He cut them in half and they seemed to smoke fine.

I wouldn't smoke any Puro Indios, too much like torture. :pu

Well, at the time, I was a part time rep for Reyes Family cigars, and it was initiation to smoke a Chief at your first event at a B&M... I picked up the 10 pack of double happiness for $20 on the devil site so I figured $20 for 20 decent sticks was a good enough price...

They aren't bad, or good. Just a bunch of A.J. Fernandez stuff in a weird giant stick format. Which gives them a very tight migraine inducing draw unless you cut them in half. I highly recommend cutting them in half.

Yup. 80% of these are good sticks that I enjoy. I plan to cut them all in half, effectively giving me 20 sticks for around $1 each.. and they are good sticks at that.

Which one are you looking at? I only bought one 10 pack sampler... Are you looking for an entire 10 pack, or just a specific cigar out of there?

I purchased a 5 pack sampler some years ago. These smoke the same as the actual cigar- most peeps just cut them in half. Yes, it is a gimmick.

I paid $20 plus 5 to ship the 10 pack. I planned on cutting each one in half, giving me 20 robusto sized smokes for $20... Seems like a good deal to me for some tasty sticks.

I did the double happiness last year sometime. Great sampler. Always cut the cigar in half and share with a friend.
It's made to be cut in half tbh, there is a half inch area in the middle that has no wrapper on it to show where you need to cut.

Yup, that was my immediate thought, and given the price I got it for on the devil site, it was hard to beat!

I bought this sampler about a year ago. Used one of them for a "LONGEST ASH" contest.

Still didn't win. Stupid Taki.
I've smoked them both ways. Doing the full version is a pretty big commitment time wise and I did have to trim the end a couple of times (after the ash fell, of course) but it tasted fine. Neither the whole or the halves are true to the label, particularly the Graycliffs, but they aren't bad.

Hmmmm... can you tell me what they taste like? How different do you think they taste? Not that it matters, but I don't see how they can label them as they do, and not have them taste like they should..

I've smoked all but one of them now. They almost all taste just the same. Very mild, a bit tough on the draw at first but certainly manageable. I'm a big fan of the Graycliffs and these just weren't up to the level. Honestly, if you cut them all up and remove the bands, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't know they were different brands. Like I said, they weren't bad, just not really recognizable.
They are fun to smoke in a crowd though....lots of "phallic symbol" jokes to be had.

Got the sampler today.. Pulled them all out and cut them all in half, with the exception of a few of them that I plan on sharing... Gonna try one of the ones I cut in half tommorow to see how they smoke...
