They sure started off with a bang! Really cool that the party revolved around the discovery of King Tut. I like the new gangster bad guy too, looks like he'll be a good villain.

And I guess Richard went rogue! :gn

A bit disappointed with Al, he should have taken that dude out. Whatever was in the trunk (obviously not a gun but if it was) no way he could draw it fast enough. Al's buddy had him.

Still a great start for sure.

I was a little confused at the start of the second episode, when Billy got out of bed naked. No, that did not confuse me! But Nucky was wearing a TShirt and Shorts, and pulled on his pants. Now, I have no interest in seeing Nucky's shiny, wrinkly, white backside; but if I was in bed with a side piece like Billy, I sure wouldn't be wearing clothes!

And Nucky getting all upset that his side piece might be not just his side piece... this ought to get interesting!

Those scenes with his son were touching, I actually could feel his kids pain when Al was trying to teach him a punch, it was like "dad, I can't hear you, I don't understand what you want from me." Just tore me up.

Kind of a boring episode though.

I actually thought it was a great episode; not boring at all. This show seems to be getting more violent by the week and Nucky is getting real mean. Seems like a huge difference since the first year's episodes. I thought the basement scene was intense because you were almost sure they were going to get caught. I agree about the scene with Capone's son; very touching. Can't wait until next week's episode.

I was wondering when that was going to happen. His "wife" is one cool lady.

I was really into this series last year, and was excited for this years new season, but have come away disappointed. It's getting to the point now where they are creating too many random story lines that are never resolved, kind of like making it up as they go since the series is popular so the can drag it out, on and on. The first three episodes this year just opened up more questions. It seems to be taking on the haphazard writing style used on the series "Lost" which was another disappointment of writers pulling things out of their a$$ to continue selling shows.

Why doesn't Nucky, get Chalky and his crew, go down to the American Legion Hall, recruit a bunch of disgruntled veterans, (that have combat experiance), arm everyone with machine guns from the Armory, and ambush the delivery site on the beach.
I would have the head of that crazy Italian, delivered in a box, with a bottle of Scotch, to his boss.

Really enjoyed this episode! Thought the writing w/the concussion allowed Buscemi to show off his acting more than in most episodes. Plus the meeting of the minds w/all the ward bosses (including Chalky!) and later w/the various East coast mafia dons was what I've thought they needed to do more off.

And it looks like Richard's gonna get him some! That would be an awkward scene of bonin', though ;s

Agree 100%. Really enjoyed this episode and was rather sad when they noted that there are only 3 more episodes. Find myself really looking forward to Sunday's and getting my Boardwalk fix. I think old Nucky's going to open his stash of Tommy guns and get some revenge. I also think he's going to recruit Richard to help.

Man after that last couple of episodes of The Walking Dead I thought for sure that Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) was a shoe in for the Emmy, but after Steve Buscemi's performance I am torn.

I thought Steve was awesome in this episode, I was laughing my a$$ off, he thought Chalky was a shoeshine boy :lr WOW!

I felt bad for him when all the bosses basically turned their backs on him, but then Arnold spoke up and it was like oh yeah, I remember that.

Richard better tread lightly around Gillian.....ugh

I wish Margaret and that guy would just hurry up and go to Ireland and get it over with, I cannot stand her drama anymore.

Does HBO think it's artsy or something creating a character that people like, (like Jimmy, Angela, now Slater) then killing them off? Who's next Richard and Chalky? I also think Richard and Chalky will come around and save Nucky. I sure didn't see that ending coming though. And Gip isn't just crazy, he's a f#$#ing pyschopath. While a few episodes have been somewhat slow, all in all, I loved this season so far. My biggest "complaint" would be that they have introduced so many new characters that it's hard to keep some of them straight. That could be just that I'm getting old.

Nice of him to look after Jimmy's son...
Ah... Momma Drama... from that crazy bi*ch who would have thought... :r
I have heard about this Billie character on other threads... my first time seeing her... looks like she's going to bring alota cheer...
I love it when people crap on the Van Alden guy...
Handing out gold jewelry on new years...? I wanna be at that party...:tu
I really dislike Jimmy's Mom... the incest think was Damnable as far as I am concerned...
The Rosetti meeting was very well constructed... fantastic actors...
Midget new-year?
LoL - Rosetti gave her the dog...
Another argument with the wifey... Well acted but I want to see some mending there...

HALF FACE BLEW THE LID OFF THAT GUY.... AWESOME!!!!!

Ahh... Now I see why Icehog (Tom) misses Billie... LoL :r

Perfect L-shaped ambush by Capone and Chalky.

Richard did not disappoint.

Glad Gyp got his.

Great episode, Nucky back to being Nucky. Chalky and Al teaming up, Gyp sleeps with the fishes. Rothstein has some problems. Richard...well, I just don't know.

Can't wait for next season, gives me a reason to live. ;) :r

Rob, gonna be tough to hang with your reviews of episodes that most of us watched months ago. :)

Richard is a total bad ass. Sniping dudes, blowing them away with a 12 gauge, etc.

I wanted to see more Capone.

Liked seeing Gyp finally get his, but I will miss his crazy character.

What an episode. Already can't wait for the next series. I didn't realize that it would be back in February. Hope that's right. Neither Richard nor Chalky disappointed that's for sure. And Nucky is back. Loved one of his last lines to the guy who killed Gip....if you come back to Atlantic City, I will kill you myself! That and the line about telling the Italian guy (forget his name, but Gip's old boss) that either peace or war, either way he'll oblige. Ballsy for sure. Loved it. Steve

Nope, I was thinking Walking Dead, Steve, my bad. I don't imagine Boardwalk Empire will be back until late summer at the earliest.

Curious how the Rothstein and Nucky situation will play out. Is Nucky having Rothstein arrested and will then take back Melon's operation?

Yes on having Rothstein arrested, that's what he meant by "big bait" afer his phone call to A.R.

Not sure if he will run Melon's operation afterward or not, but sounds plausible.

Got to see it last night, Holy chit lots of killings in that episode. Best episode of the season (next to the one where Nucky is having memory issues) and it's the season finale.....WOW!

Sorry to see Gyp go,. like someone else said I will miss his craziness.

So is Gillian still alive?

Richard is STILL the man!!!!

I hope Rothstein gets out of being arrested, I really like him and the actor who plays Lucky was AWESOME!

I'm going to guess no. I think she was injected with the same stuff she used earlier this season on her boy toy. I would guess she had enough in the syringe to kill Gyp, so her being half the size, my guess is gone, gone, gone.

I will go the opposite direction, I think she lives. The boy toy got enough to be able to drown him w/o a fight, not necessarily kill him on its own. Not sure if she was going to kill Gyp, or put him under and hand him over to Nucky. My guess is she will be back.

There's just no reasoning with a Bears fan. :r
....but, you could be right.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too, I wasn't sure if her dose was enough to kill Gyp or not, so that's what I was curious about

My son and I were talking about that last episode after he watched it last night and he reminded me of the coolest scene. The one where Richard comes on the last guy who held a gun to Jimmy's kid. As he lowered his gun slowly, he told the kid to close his eyes and shot the gansta dude in the head from low down. One of the coolest scenes I've watched in a while.

Unfortunately Gillian does not die according to an interview with one of the writers. Gyp went out in Ceaser fashion being back stabbed by his own guys in the end. Fitting that it was done on the beach.
