Wow Minni called for 2 penalties in the 3rd so far should have been atleast 5 penalties. Some really questionable crosschecks and interference have been ignored. Glad Sharks up 4-2. Guess they are largely letting them play.

Funny, new Red Sox players say the same thing, guys who come from teams like the Padres or most National League teams are always surprised about the "playoff atmosphere" around the Red Sox, usually regular season games against the MFYs.

Bruins sign swedish elite star forward Carl Soderberg to a multi-year deal, he was part of a trade in 2007 but resisted coming to play in the NHL.

According to the source, the only thing left to be done as of Tuesday afternoon was for the Swedish Ice Hockey Association to approve Soderberg's transfer to the Bruins and the NHL. Once that happens, according to the source, as long as Soderberg plays in a regular-season game he will be eligible to play in the Stanley Cup playoffs because the Bruins -- who acquired him in exchange for goalie Hannu Toivonen in the summer of 2007 -- already owned his rights and had him on their reserve list.

The punch line is ... Soderberg has had his best season yet in the Swedish Elite League -- 31 goals and 60 points in 54 games. Well not too funny to the rest of the league :D

Mikita was my favorite as a kid, he ost a little luster when I met him (again) as an adult.

My favorite D-man back in the day was Dave Manson, that's where I took my jersey number (#3) from when I started playing.

Hard to pick a current favorite with players like Toews, Hossa, Seabrook, etc.

Cornelison is great, though at the game you can hardly hear him over the crowd.

Some people think the way Hawks fans cheer throughout the National Anthem is disrepsectful. What many don't realize is that is started in 1991, when the US was involved in Desert Storm. The All Star game was held in Chicago that year, and broadcasted live in the Middle East to our Troops. And thus a tradition was born. I was lucky enough to be at the game.

All im going to say is I have predicted this downfall for a few years now. Infact a review of the last few pages of last years thread will confirm this. Wings may not make it this year. They better open up that checkbook and over pay this summer if they expect anyone to come. They tried not to this summer and they got tootoo. Unless of course some of their kids become amazing, but that doesnt appear to be the case. I think most of us expect that Z and Dats will do enough to get them in.

Torres he has played well I have to admit. He is a good passer and has done well in his first few games. That said I still hate him and wont cheer him. Was at the local b&m the other night watching the game when he scored in the shootout to win. Got into a discussion qith some others who now "like him". The guy is and was a dirty pos. Loving the last week. It looks like it will come down to the last day for multiple teams. Love all 3 California teams being in.

Watching buddies who are Wings fans twist in the wind is awesome also.

Looking at the 8 9 battle. CBJ plays Dallas and Nasville. Redwings play LA,Dallas and Nashville. Both teams goalies are hot. While I wouldnt normally pick Det over LA, the kings played an extremely physical game against Minnesota last night then jumped on a plane to fly and play a 430PST. This looks like Dets chance to squeeze back in. Then it becomes who does better against Dal and Nashville.

San Jose back in the dance for the 9th straight year snd yet again they appear to not have a legitimate chance of doing anything. Torres is still the second biggest Dbag in the league, but he has been a factor in many of the Sharks recent wins.

Only legit goal in that game was Logans. Raymond literally pushed nemo down in his crease puck disappears and neither results in a whistle. That was crap and the Sharks were right to be pissed. Boyles goal was similar. Pattys goal I liked because i think it showed Lou was rattled but was a kind of a fluke. While the refs did call the Cans for somethings I thought they got away with more then they should have. Glad they won. I hate those slim bags.

Going to be interesting to see how Ducks Wings plays out. Not sure what I would prefer. Sharks play Kings well so in a way I think I would prefer (God save me) the Wings win. Also Sharks dont play St. Louis well. Then again Sharks will have to play the Hawks at some point so maybe now when rested?

I love how the Canucks blamed the officiating. While I agree the sedin penalty was questionable 95% of the calls were well earned. Right before Sedins call there were 2 trips they got away with. They looked bad all series ran their mouths and *****ed non stop.

Well it seems to be the in thing, to complain about the faceoffs and teams "cheating", so far the Habs said it about the Sens, Wild are accusing Hawks, Leafs are complaining about Boston ... Tom I kind of agree, but I just cant. I cant root for the Wings. I dont like all the interfence and soft picks they get away with. That combined with their snipers and goalie just rather see them gone. the refs are no5 calling the soft picks and interference like they did in payoffs past

Understood, Mike, you just can't root for a team you hate....it would be like me rooting for the Casucks against anyone. I would root for a team of Hitlers over Vancouver.

I think the Hawks would have an easier time with the Wings, a less physical team than SJ. Niemi is playing great, as are Couture, Galiardi (sp?), even Torres. It will come down to getting behind the SJ defense and putting a lot of rubber on Niemi, and trying to "outspeed" a speedy SJ offense. Should be a good, tough series, much tougher for the Hawks than in 2010....sure wish we had Big Byfuglein back. :lr

Dude the soft pick is becoming part of hockey it seems, the canucks run them CONSTANTLY and they aren't even that soft, when the cansmucks are on a PP they are running the pick and there's a decent amount of contact going on, not one call.

Whether the Isles win or lose this series I am, after the last twenty yeaow rs so happy with 1. how we performed this season and 2. how stocked our prospect pool is (hell some of our best players aren't even up in the bigs yet) 3. the future of this franchise.
