View Full Version : My Son's First Cigar

I've never pushed my son to join me in my hobby. I always thought it would be nice but always like my kids to make their own decisions in life. He is going away to college next week and started mentioning that we need to smoke a cigar together before he leaves. I got him a Macanudo because I really don't have much in the "first smoke" category. We lit up last night and he smoked like a champ! I have an AVO lined up for him for the weekend.

Here's a pic of the momentous occasion:

I can't see the pic from work, but that's pretty freaking awesome man.....wished I had someone to smoke with when I was younger.

Now you can save up and get him a nice box of CC's or some highter quality (Padron's maybe) for his graduation present.

One of the most common regrets I've heard from cigar smokers is that they never got to smoke one with their dad. Great pic, better story!:tu

Very cool. I can't wait to smoke with my son. His first cigar was a R101 Namakubi , but he's only 2 so he just ate a chunk of it. That will teach me to leave my cigar case in the back seat within arms reach of the car seat.

Awesome. My first offspring is due in 7 weeks. Cannot wait to have a smoke with him in about 18 years.

I got into cigars as part of the natural evolution of me turning into my dad. Just like he turned into his father. I remember the first time we smoked together... What a great time. It was it's own moment. Congrats on sharing such a great experience with your son.

I ALWAYS enjoy a Cigar with my Brother, and Father. Especially since my Wife is in the USCG in Boston, my Brother is in the Army stationed in KY (Edit: That retard I quoted lol), and my Father is back home, in MI. A group Cigar for us is rare since we see each other two or three times a year.

It's the little things.

Great day indeed. Sharing a smoke with a son is cool.

I will have te same opportunity with my oldest boy's 18th birthday coming soon. I have cigars I put away at his birth to share with him.

Peace of the Lord be with upon.

That's awesome! My father passed before I ever had a remote thought of smoking cigars and of course wish I had the opp. Great to hear others have been able to enjoy the experience.

And now a filled humidor has been ordered and is on it's way to Bloomington. He's been buying cigars down there on his own so I think I may have turned him.

I'm in the same boat! I've always hoped to have a cigar and a beer with my father (he doesn't drink very often; I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen him have *a* drink) but I always chicken out and end up not asking him

My dad wouldn't smoke a cigar if it was my last request haha Got my brother into it though.

My grandson is 12 and told me this summer he couldn't wait till he was old enough to have his first cigar with me. I took him to the Outlaw Cigar here in KC and he just stood in the walk in Humidor and just took in the smells. I'll never forget that!

Kelmac07, I feel your pain... I'm 26 and I guarantee most of my fellow generation regards Black N' Milds as cigars... sad but true fact...

Markem... Glad you had the experience....

My wife bught me a Humidor for Christmas and after opening that and a couple of samplers that she bought also, my son asked if there was something in there that he would like. So on Christmas day my son and I sat in the garage and smoked a cigar together. He had a RyJ Romeo and I smoked a Brickhouse. It's good when you can share something with your children that you will remember for years to come.

That's great. One of my younger sons was the one that got me into man made cigars. One of my proudest moments was having a cigar with my other son on his return from his deployment in Iraq.
