View Full Version : Cheap watches!!!

I thought I would share what I believe is a good deal on some cheap watches. I am attracted to Invicta and Red Line watches for the look as well as the prices. I don't expect them to be great watches but if they are half decent I will be very happy.

I just picked up the following watches (One for me and one for the wife).
I am digging the silicon bands right now.
Total price for both shipped was $93.16 on Overstock dot com.

What are your thoughts?
I have not owned many watches because I can't justify the price, but at these prices I couldn't resist putting some cigar money on hold.

Looks like the white one will arrive tomorrow, no word on the black one yet.
I will try to get some pics of them.

The white one is going to Guatamala so we will know how well it really holds up!

I like the look of the Black one. I can't speak to the quality, but you can't go wrong with $40 if you like the way it looks.

That's what I figured, even if it breaks right away at least I know not to buy the brand again. I am worried about it looking much better in the pic than in person though. We will see and I will update the thread. I am just starting out in the world of watches, figured I should start at the bottom and work my way up.

Shane, I do not know who makes Redline but they sure look like they are a sub-brand of Invicta. Let me know how you like it.

Looking around on watch forums I saw a reacurring issue of them not keep time. Some people loved them and others had the time issue, but none where the same as the one I listed above. A watch must keep time or it is a bracelet. We will see.

Yes but this is a quartz watch and Redline does make some automatics. Maybe it was the automatics not keeping time?

Yah I believe it was autos I was reading about. We will have to wait and see.

Yeh the autos rely on movement from your body to stay wound.

This thread is a great idea. I love wateches and only have a few but some of them are very inexpensive.

Any suggestions on a watch displan case? they have some on the amazon but I do not know anybody who has had one.

I currently only have one watch, so I have not yet a need for a case.
I have a Fossil from many years ago, nothing special but I thought it looked nice back then and I got alot of compliments on it.

Can't find a stock image of it, will have to snap one. It served me well but got a little beat up.

So far they meet my hopes and exceed my expectations for the price.
I didn't really take the invicta out of the box.
The only complaint about the Redline so far is the date window is soo small.
I think the Invicta might be too big of a face for my wife's wrist.

Hello. Just wanted to say that $69 is about what I pay for three watches, and $104, guess that's four or five of what's in my wheelhouse. Much as I like wearing the things seems like I'm tough on 'em whether at work or play, no sense paying more than $25-ish except for one dress-up-occasion-only watch.

Heck who needs online vendors when there's so many Big Lots stores around? The ones I buy there for $8 seem to last as long as what Target or Kohl's throws on their clearance racks for $25 or more.

emopunker2004
07-30-2012, 10:23 PM
I used to be the same way but lately I've gotten in to watches. As far as things go $69,$100, $200 is still a budget watch.

Yeah I know, was kinda exaggerating a little for effect. But not out and out fibbing. Heck it was just this year when I scraped together enough "disposable" income to buy a carry gun that costs above the $1,000 mark. (Springfield EMP 9mm.) And yes it's got a little wear and tear on it already, just have to expect that to happen. Ahem...I'm drifting into a different thread there, sorry.
