I need the wisdom of this forum. My lighter wont fill with butane. When I hook the nozzle to it it just shoots all over the place almost like its blocked. This has never happened before so I'm at a loss. Any ideas?

Have you tried pushing down on the fill valve?
Does it push down?

Vector lighter and yes the valve will push down. It just wont take the fuel.

My Vector lighters need an adapter to fill properly... Most cans (except Colibri) include plastic adaptors.
Have you bleed the lighter??? If its full if air, it wont take fuel.

I've bleed the lighter yes and I have used the adapter. It seems like a little bit will go int but then it comes right back out

Try putting your lighter in the freezer for 10-15 minutes prior to filling. The cold lighter will help draw in the butane. Also make sure you do not shake the can before filling.:tu

If you can't figure it out send me your APO and I'll send a Ronson or two. Can't have you out protecting us without a lighter

KENNETH, you DO know you can let go of the lighter, right?? You don't have to HOLD onto it in the freezer.
Dang Boston people...

Haha the freezer wasnt what froze it. It was the butane spraying out and cold lighter combo.
:)
Here is a lighter you can get for the cost of a box of cigars....

Thanks for the input guys. Albert was awesome enough to pic up 2 ronsons for me so those should last a while hopefully.
Have you tried filling from a different can of butane?
I've had nozzles on the cans get damaged and as a result they either won't seal well enough to the fill valve on the lighter to force the butane in or fit well enough to depress the fill valve on the lighter to allow butane in. Depending on how badly the nozzle on the can is expanded, fill adapters sometimes won't even help.
