If you saw the front the tabs would say things like "Whole Milk, 2 qts.", "Cottage Cheese, 1 qt.", "Skim Milk", etc.
You would put it in an empty bottle for the Milkman to tell him you wanted something extra with your usual delivery.

That's one I wouldn't have known, but I do remember the milkman delivering dairy products. Maybe I'm not as old as I thought I was. :noon

You're truly a one percenter if you know what this evil bastard is. They were so hated that a society was formed to have them banned. They managed to have them banned in a number of cities, then in a dozen states, then they disbanded as this era just fizzled out. I haven't seen one since I was in eighth grade, 1979.

At 8 years old you could mold a car, fill it with firecrackers, douse it with gasoline, pour a line of gas to act as a wick, singe your hair lighting it, revel over the explosion and burned out mass of bubbling plastic, then go throw lawn darts at your buddies.
It doesn't get much better than that. :tu

I'll take out the 'name' of this quote, but who can remember this show, which out cheating and searching for it.
The ________, alien beings from a dying planet. Their destination: the Earth. Their purpose: to make it their world. David Vincent has seen them. For him, it began one lost night on a lonely country road, looking for a shortcut that he never found. It began with a closed deserted diner, and a man too long without sleep to continue his journey. It began with the landing of a craft from another galaxy. Now David Vincent knows that the _________ are here, that they have taken human form. Somehow he must convince a disbelieving world that the nightmare has already begun.

Well it's pretty dirty & didn't take a clear photo. Plus I can't figure out how to insert photo. I clicked on the icon, but it keeps asking for an url? Any who I'll clean it up & make a Cigar Box Guitar out of it.

Not sure this will work, but I created an album. I'm so old I remember when a camera needed film and an album was something you kept on a shelf and stuck pictures of relatives in it.
Here's a picture of a Cigar Box Guitar made from a Romeo & Julieta box. I'm so old I know who Carl Perkins was & the fact he played a CBG.http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/album.php?albumid=994

I played with those a lot when I was a kid.
Thanks for bringing that one back, Michael.
Had one, too, Peter. I loved this toy. Forgot all about it. Also had a set that made bridges.

That roll of caps also fit a dart grenade I had. The clank of it hitting the floor was louder than the cap going off.

Can't believe they still sell these. Saw this one on Amazon. I had a red one as a kid in the early 70s.

Silly putty!
For this, my dad had a piece of tape that marked channels 2, 4, 5, and 13. All else fails, go outside and twist the pole by hand.

Yup.
I remember their short stint in American fashion but don't recall having one. Now, priest collar shirts? Had a bunch.:r

I remember having this one, along with the Lone Ranger, and so, so many more at the time.
Looking back, what a stupid concept, yet so popular. I played for hours with this crap placing them, peeling them, placing them again and so on.
However, the very best part was the smell. Anyone remember that unique scent it had?
Oh, and name it.
