Cigars international has a good selection in stock, but doesnt sell to anyone under 21 (I am 19)
cigars at your price sells to people of legal smoking age under 21 like me, but has limited selection and it seems theyre always out of stock

I want someplace that has the wide variety of CI, but sells to me. whats the minimum age to buy from thompson cigars? any other suggestions?

There are a lot of good retailers but prices vary. You need to check out several to find the best deal on the cigars you are looking for.

Havng said that, this is the best place to start: http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=1612

When you send your credit card info into CI, does it show that you are under 21? If not, I'm not a big advocate of lying, but when you create an account there you could just say you are 21.
You are of legal age to consume tobacco products. If falsifying this information is against the law, then disregard my advice.

Thanks for all the input guys. would anyone happen to know why CI has the 21 and over policy, and if I tried to place the order, would it go through with that age verify thing they have now?

I wouldn't be hellbent on using CI-there are much better deals to be had from several of the vendors listed above without trying to "cheat" the system at all.

CI doesn't check your age. You don't sign when the package comes. I think it's, more or less, something they have to post.

Maybe it depends on what state you're in, though?

They have it as 21 because some states only allow tobacco use at 21 y/o.

I've been smoking for 5 years now, and I'm 22. Always ordered from CI with no problems.

That "age verification" thing is a joke to scare away timid would-be minors. I don't know a single person who has ever been stopped by that "feature," and I have known plenty who were in your exact spot.

I know for a fact that Famous has, in the past, price-matched other companies when I called and asked. Even got free shipping on the order too :)

Getting away with something like buying cigars when you are under 21 is one thing. Flaunting it on the Internet is another. This is a public forum and should the wrong people read this the vendors could get in a lot of trouble...

Life is difficult enough for many online retailers and I don't want us to make it any more difficult. Just my :2...

I just did a quick google search, and didn't find anything about having to be 21. I DID see that alaska, utah, a couple other states, as well as 3 counties in New York the minimum age is 19.

Now that I think about it, it may have something to do with shipping regulations/restrictions. Not necessarily the legal age to purchase.

In NYS they even have the right to ask for I.D.

LMK when they require buyers to scan/attach their drivers license to buy cigars.

I think purchasing alcohol is different in that the carrier will check ID when making a delivery, but the age verification for tobacco purchases is basically done by the honor system.

Sorry, I wasn't talking about mail. I'm talking about in any store to buy tabbaco. Here in Nyc for sure, if they have anyvreason to believe yourvnot 21. They even ask teenagers to go in to stores to inspect, if they'll sell.
