a whole lot of young brave men invaded a cold French beach to free Europe from the nazis. A lot of those young men did not make it through the day or the weeks/months after, lots of others lost their arms, legs or suffered other injuries (physical or mental) during D-Day and the battles that followed. Don't let these heroes be forgotten.

My Grandpa was there. Three silver stars, two bronze. He never talked about it, ever. I don't even know what the medals are for except one silver star was for him taking out a machine gun nest with a grenade so his men could advance. He was a great Texan.

My thanks and prayers go out to all who serve.
