I never realized he was one of the longest, if not the longest, living heart transplant. He lived 22 years (1990-2012) after the transplant.

He made a great, respected name for himself. I'm sure his influence and example will continue in the world of motorsports for years to come.

:sad His cars will forever be classics. One of the ones I've always dreamed of owning was the 1965 GT-350.

RIP Carroll Shelby. The 427 Cobra was probably one of the greatest sports cars ever made.

Carroll was a close friend of my brother-in-law's (passed) Dad, and a good friend of my bil's family. He'll be sorely missed. I just told his wife, she didn't know (we've been at a wedding). I'm sure my BIL will be upset when she gets home, I'm sure he knows by now.
Carroll led an incredible life, for sure. He was one good dude.

RIP Mr. Shelby...

This man was ultimately responsible for sparking my interest into classic mustangs a few years ago when I attended the Carlise, PA All Ford Nationals event. So many awesome cars that came from his mind...

His influence will live on for generations to come...
