So looking in my humidor all I see are 8-9 dollar smokes, nice but not when you smoke 2 or 3 per day. This paycheck I'm going to get some budget smokes to lessen the pain in my wallet each time I light up. For Maduro I'm going with Nica Libre, for an early in the day smoke I'm going to pick up some Arganese Connecticut. I want one more bundle of cheapos but I have looked through the cheap smokes thread and nothing really jumps out at me. Looking for something decidedly medium, any recommendations?

Didn't we just get new smileys???:fp

Try the Pioneer Valley Maduro. Good solid medium smoke that typically goes for 25-30 a box on C-bid. I love these things as my cheapo smokes.

careful shopping on the devils site will get you middle of the road (and better) smokes for 2-3.00.

I love 1844's, most AJ Fernandez I have had and Argonese madros. All 2 bucks or less.

Next, someone will recommend you do a search. :D

Seriously, when it comes to budget smokes, there are two I've found that I actually enjoy. Holt's offers the Little Havana Overrun Small Batch from time to time. Famous has it's Famous 3000 brand. Both are inexpensive, and IMHO, decent smokes. In terms of flavor they are full bodied, but won't try to blow the top of your head off like at least half the stuff being marketed today.

I am already picking up some famous nic 3ks for the wife, she thinks they taste like bread, :sh

I wish I could articulate better what I am looking for. Medium may not be the word, something not Maduro and not Connecticut, I have so many Maduros I need a break now and again. The arganese are mainly for when I want something light and creamy. I really enjoyed an illusione epernay I had, bit light in the flavor department but it had the flavors I like, just a bit weak. Let me know if I'm making any sense.

I"m pretty done with Bundles and cheap smokes (esp after smoking that GPEEC-EL). I got lucky with a few bundles of Consuegra #17 (EMS and Mad). They must have been laying around the warehouse for awhile because I recv'd them with the cello already yellow. I have about 3-4 bundles of both and are great "yard 'gars".

I wanted to try the Famous Nic but they refuse to ship to my APO/DPO address so I'll have to pass on it.

I had trouble with them in the past. However phone call fixed it first time -- second phone call the next time and no problems since.

If you wanna go super cheap, check out Cuban Delights. CI has them for like 80 cents a stick. A buddy of mine got me hooked on them when I was unemployed, it's a 80 cent cigar that smokes like the standard issue 2-3 dollar cigars. Great value.

One brand that the Asylum always seems to leave out is Puros Indios/Reyes Family Cigars. They have some really excellent lines including Viejo and their newest, the Puros Indios 2012. On CBid you can get these smokes for $1.00-1.50 each and you would be hard pressed to find a better value. I don't really even consider these cheap smokes due to the quality of the cigar and excellent taste.

I have done the same thing. Smoking two or three $8-12 cigars a day is getting costly.
I recently caught deals on:

Padilla La Terreza (maduro & naturals) for $17.50 10pk
Gurkha Spec Ops for $25 10pk
The Cigar.com Brazillian lables aren't that bad either for a few bucks each.

I've found with cheaper sticks, the longer you age them the better they get
try and put some bundle sticks like Gran Habano GH2 or LFD Cameroon 2nd's
down for 6 to 12 months and try them again! Hell even La Estrella Cubana taste
like chocolate milk after a year according to a friend of mine. I was able to get through
2/3's of the cigar before I had to put it out.

For cheap cigars ready to smoke try Joya De Nicaragua Fuerte Serie B
Jesus Fuego Origens Originals (12-15 a 5pak), Famous Nicaraguan 5000's

My brother likes the Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Maduro's

I've also smoked some Padilla Fuma Naturals that were pretty good.

I think I'm going to try putting some away. I've noticed these cheapies seem to be hit or miss. 2 of those Don Lino were amazing and 2 of them were really rough, like 40 grit sandpaper, and had such a tight draw that they were totally unsmokeable.
