View Full Version : Finally finished my tupperdor!
But I have a little problem... my new hygro that I calibrated with the boveda calibration kit always shows me 75% of humidity when I put the heartfelt aluminum block inside .... I used distilled water, I think I over wet them though, so I used a hairdryer to dry part of it, then tried it, still 75%, then I tried to dry it some more, and still 75%...
Im starting to think that I shoud dry out completly the beads and start over or the hygro isnt calibrated well, which I doubt ...
any thoughts?
btw its a 5.5L container, I can take pics if needed..
thanks

What type of hygrometer is it and how long are you giving it to adjust? Does it ever change or is it just sort of "stuck" at 75%?

How long did you leave the beads in the Tupperware? It can take awhile for everything to settle down.
it does change after i open the container, the reponse is pretty good... its the xikar rectangular hygro .. I kept it for about 24h in the boveda calibration pack and then pressed on the "calibrate" button on the hygro.

i left it overnight , when i woke up i saw 75% so I thought it was too much so I started the drying process because I was sure I added too much distilled water... but its weird how it sticks to 75%..? no?

Is the container empty or do you have sticks inside?

Not necessarily. You can always hit the reset button to and check the results after that.
