Mysterious booms? Sounds like Todd had a burrito for dinner last night.

Three nights in a row, always starting around 8 PM and usually ending in the wee hours of the morning. Only affecting a small bit of the city, but there's a lot of folks in that part of the city on edge. Some people hear and feel it, others, in essentially the same area, don't. Weird.

Is it really that loud there?
How often are these noises occurring?

EDIT: I just read your post

I wonder what it is?
something will eventually give....

Some people equate it to the rumblings of a strong thunderstorm, others say it's enough to wake you out of a sound sleep, still another at work here said he thought his house had been hit by a bulldozer. All the experts and investigating going on, and nobody has a clue what the fArk is going on.

It's pretty interesting to say the least. They talked about using a sound machine to pinpoint where it was coming from. I'm pretty curious as to what will be found. Eventually a cause should be found.

What time do the street lamps turn on? (Do you guys even have street lamps in clintonville? ;))
It makes me think that there is some automatic system kicking on and something is terribly wrong with it.

Stay safe.

There having a town meeting tonight at the high school to take questions, but as of now, they have no answers.

Sounds interesting. Are there any companies doing (have done) drilling/mining or fracking that could be disturbing the bed rock?

No, nothing like that happening around here. It is interesting to note we do have something of a "bottomless" lake on the southwest side of town. I remember when they moved the highway some years back, they had a tough time filling a portion of it that was close to where the new highway went through. (of course, all the reports are on the Northeast side of town, but seem to be spreading back towards the center)
We've had sinkholes in town before, but nothing of the size we're talking could be possible in this situation with the dispersion of the reporting calls if that is indeed what it turns out to be. We're talking a 1/4 mile radius or more.

I have it on good authority that the booms are coming from the Long Lake Pickled Egg Factory.

Yep, real weird. Something like that happened here in 1989. Went on for about 3 weeks. The word was it was seismic oil research offshore. But people by the ocean hardly felt them. On the coastal mountains, we could almost hear them.

Over the years I've learned that there is government tunneling going on. Yea, secret stuff, been happening for 50 years. Here's the machine that does it in position. It runs on a railroad.

http://projectcamelot.org/tunnel_boring_machine_8.jpg

Here is with USAF personel by it at a portol.

http://projectcamelot.org/tunnel_boring_machine_2.jpg

Here's some big spoil piles by the old edward AFB north of Los Angeles. I just went and found this right now on google because I actually saw this pile driving eastwards towards Lancaster ca. From an overpass I could see this.

http://i40.tinypic.com/k1b329.jpg

Above, on the bottom, 4wd tracks going up and down the SE slope meeting with a road can be made out, but no where else. You can see running SW and NE, where the machines laid down the dirt. Weeds grow there but not on the steep slope where the tracks are and on the NW side These piles are like a mile long, 60+ feet tall and 500 feet wide.

Below is the pile next to a runway. A pilot that rented from a friend, said he couldn't tell us what he flew, but that there were piles like this by every AFB he landed at.

http://i42.tinypic.com/2rhl7qq.jpg

We are told the war costs a billion a day, actually, it makes more sense to me that the war is a way to launder the money it takes to do the amount of tunneling that has been done.

Yea, . . . I know, somebody wants to by me a tinfoil hat. Well, they got no explanation why our economy is so trashed or none for what is goin' on, so I'm speaking' up here.

And if that tunneling were going on less than a mile below the surface, with the kind of tonnage of high explosives that are needed in granite, people on the surface are going to get shook and cracks will develop in the floors when foundations are on softer soil.

Sharon Binger said the disturbance has left cracks in her basement walls and floor, and that they're getting worse. She said her insurance company won't pay for the damage until she knows what caused it.

But the rock below Clintonville is mainly solid granite that's largely impermeable.

The locals there should get together and put things on a map with dates and times to see which way it is headed.

Just heard on the radio they now think it has to do with earth layers shifting in the unseasonably warm weather?

I thought they ruled that out after they had looked at the seismic activity.

I suppose even a little shift in the plates that you wouldn't necessarily call an "earthquake" would still be pretty loud.

14holestogie
03-22-2012, 09:15 AM
I'm not sure who "they" are, but "they" all have different theories.
Check out HAARP on the net. I've even seen some say that's what's really happening. :tf

The latest I heard, and this at least sounds plausible, the ground water table is so low that the rocks that it normally flows through are shifting as it empties. This would at least explain while it's so localized. Plate shifting I would think would cover a larger area.

They must be coordinating the drilling via satellite.

I have constructed this device to collect the signals and cerebrally process them.

Once processed, I will submit the results for your review here...
but wait I hear them outside my window now.

I guess its best to just keep this to myself so as not to pose a danger to my or your families.

I've been to Centralia, back around '86. It was just an oddity then. It's not the only mine fire that's been burning for years. It's just the only one that wrecked a town (that I know of).
It's really weird to see the cracks in the ground and the smoke billowing out. There's a whole side of the mountain that smolders underground, the smoke rising in different places.
For some reason they razed the trees and made it look like a clearcut. I'm guessing they didn't want surface fires.

I had heard that the fires burned the trees from the roots up.
