This one still gets me. Now I like a little Glen Campbell and a love a lot of Foo Fighters, so Glen's 2008 remake of "Times Like These" is pretty interesting. Not bad for a 72-year old.

As a huge korn fan I really like their remakes of both word up by cameo and another brick in the wall by that Floyd in pink.
Also think Metallica did well with bob segar's turn the page.

Now for my serious answer...
Michael Burks, the man is phenomenal blues guitarist who truly plays with his heart and soul, and, has a band to match. I've seen him about half a dozen times over the years and he's always bound to pull some incredible cover out of his hat, and you never know what it will be, since they don't use set lists - whatever he plays, they follow.
Unfortunately, not much out there from him on you tube, but here's one to give an idea of how he takes a song and makes it his own, while still respecting the original.

WSP has such a unique way of covering songs, they often don't change them much, but with their unique style and Bell's vocals, they always end up owning whatever they are covering.
Always liked their cover of Fire on the Mountain.

Awesome! I wanted to go to that show badly but I couldn't convince Erika that Valentine's was best spent at a Panic show, plus it sold out in no time. The Fox is where I saw some of my first shows such as the night in '95 I saw No Doubt open for 311. No Doubt was fairly unknown but after that night I had quite the crush on Gwen Stephanie. I would have loved to spend WSP's 25th anniversary at one of my favorite venues.

Blues Traveler does a cover of this song in concert that is unbelievable!!! They usually start the set off with it, break into another song inthe middle then end the set with it. Popper on the harmonica doing the fiddle part is just a sight to see.

I don't have any links, but a couple weeks ago I heard a cover of Lionel Ritchie's "Easy" done by Faith No More...it was so horrible that I laughed my tuckus off
I was wondering if someone was gonna bring up Richard Cheese....

I love me some Phil Lynott. (Emerald is still one of my favorite songs - especially the live version). No pretty video, but I found the sound on this version better and some good audience sing-a-long.

and if that isn't enough Whiskey in the Jar for you, here is U2 doing it with the only remarkable thing about it being the audience singing.
