I wanted to relax and enjoy a morning off. Grabbed a LGC from the cooler and a book and went outside. Clipped the cap and...WTF is that cloth stuff coming out of the cigar? Pulled on it and a big chunk came out. Gross. Reclipped the cap to see if I could get past it. Looks good, until I notice a slight discoloration, pull on it and heres what I get

More of the cloth and a piece of cellophane! I am glad I double checked after I reclipped it, that stuff can't taste good. I will be contacting the manufacturer about this one. Anyone else find anything gross in their cigars?

I thought I found a white hair in a CAO once, but after contacting the company I recieved and explanation that it was most likely a piece of the nylon twine they use to bind the tobacco bundles together.
whatever, they replaced the cigar and then some, so I was happy.

O.o Now, I knew there were a few quality control issues down there, but lordy...maybe it was malicious - "This'll show those gringos..."

Perhaps that's a cocoon of some sort. Seen that before in a cheap cigar. I have also found twine in a few cigars.

I've heard of worse things in a cigar , like a band aid , a clipped finger nail and a piece of wire once . This usually only happens with machine made cigars . In a hand rolled I would suspect it was a disgruntled torcedor . I mean how could you not see something like that ? :bh

Found a discolored (burnt) staple in my ashtray once after a stick. Didn't see it come out of the ash but then I am 90% sure it wasn't in the ashtray before.
Figure it happens, hell I have had a dead mouse in a beer bottle why not something in a cigar.

Although rare, I’ve seen this before. It’s the twine or cloth that was used to ferment the tobacco or bind the bales together. I recently saw a picture of something like this sticking out of a CC. I guess the roller was on auto-pilot when the cigar was rolled.
What does LGC stand for, pardon the noobie ignorance.

I've found similar looking cloth in a cigar once. I've also found nylon shreds from some type of tarp.
I pulled half of a bug egg case, about the size of a navy bean, from the foot of an Opus X. When you think of the millions of cigars rolled each year you gotta figure some foreign objects have to end up in there.
Do you think the torcedors wash there hands after using the bathroom?
Just a thought.:D

Jeez, just imagine all the stuff we've smoked that is comfortably wrapped on the inside. :hn The area of the cigar that never sees the light of day. If I were disgruntled, that's where I'd plant my yucky stuff. Might be why the flavor profile really goes south in the middle of the stick sometimes.

:tpd: I found some twine in a Fuente double chateau sun grown a few months ago. It was a couple inches long from what I remember.

I found those blue tarp threads in cigars before. Don't remember the gar, but I do remember it was falling apart enough that I killed it and dissected it.

I smoked my first taboo twist today down to about 2.5" and decided to take it apart since I already spent 1.5 hours smoking it to that point(very good cigar btw)...nothing but tobacco inside there!:ss
