We finally had a nice weekend day, so I figured I better get my motorcycle service done so it's ready for the spring. This was the first time I changed all of the fluids without a jack. My current jack won't work with this bike.
Now she's all ready to go for another 4,000 miles!

What do you mean fluid change? I thought with HDs all you had to do was keep topping it off? :r:lr

Nice and clean bike there brother, looking good!

Harley just can't get rid of the leaking oil rep when AMF owned them. :D This is actually my 4th Harley with a combined 70k miles and none of them have leaked. They are actually very reliable now.

They will steal you blind on service though. I bought this one right before winter and this was my 1k mile service and I had to change engine, primary, and tranny oil. Dealership charged $350+ for this. I spent $70 on parts and it took me 1 1/2 hours.

Thanks for the compliments! I wasn't trying to show off the bike, just the fact that I got off my ass today and got something done.

DC,
What do you ride? I forgot to ask you. I know you've mentioned that it is your primary transportation.

Honda VTX and that's my son Drake sitting on there. The windshield is gone now I got a fairing for it. I'm not the bagger type but I travel long distance quite a bit and a fairing beats a windshield hands down!

With these gas prices in NY, currently 4.15/ gal I can't wait till warm weather to ride.

I've heard the VTX is a great bike DC. My last bike was a bagger (Street Glide), but it wasn't in the budget anymore with getting married, buying a house, and now having a baby all within a year. I really miss that bike.

I just piked up a new ride in January and Leigh get her first bike. The weather here in Florida has been Bipolar, one day a high of 89 and the next 70. Great looking rides Tyler and DC.

I've never tried a Mustang Seat. I had the Sundowner on the Street Glide and it fit me perfectly. No problems riding 4-500 miles a day.

I had 50K on the roadglide when I traded her in. The dealership gave me a DEAL I COULDNT REFUSE!!!! Just waiting for the next road trip. Leigh and I did 3K miles in 6 days last October. Thats how I got the Ultra, Momma Comfort.

I'm suprised you didn't go with the Road Glide Ultra. It seems that when most people go to the Shark Nose, they never go back.
Both bikes are perfect for several thousand mile trips.

I would have, but the $3K difference did it for me. That is allot of mods for the Ultra.:r

Very true! I didn't know they were that much more. If you don't have one already and you're a GPS fan, I would look into a Zumo GPS unit. It was the best money I spent on a motorcycle.

I also do all my own work. I did my 1K for $120 (synthetic oil) and an hour of my time.

I will usually pick CO over anything else. It's beautiful out there. I also would like to go farther out west too sometime. I haven't gone any farther east than Nashville on the bike so far.

No snow. The two houses behind us are white, but now that I look closer it does look like snow since it's blurred out.
I did get a ride it. Had to warm it up before chaning fluids! :)

Got the bikes in heated storage, same place every year. I rode in Nov, Dec & Jan, pretty late for here, but we just really got our first snowstorm of the year yesterday, VERY odd winter.

I got new tires just before Sturgis last year, just need to check nuts/bolts and change fluids and I'm ready to roll!

In your case: Rolling it out the driveway to wash it and put it back in won't make it leak. You gotta ride it and get it up to operating temperature. :lr

It's all good, it's about the ride, not what you ride. :)
