Just ordered the Coleman 150qt Marine cooler from Wally World. :noon

Time to start laying the plans for shelves/drawers/beads...etc. Wife is going to :sl me by the time I'm done. She knows about the cooler, but maybe not the full cost of setting it up right. :r

I didn't know you bought one that big Jeff! I'm starting with a 48qt which I can easily conceal in the basement so the wife doesn't see it for awhile. :r

Got the cooler today. Wife saw it and realized how many sticks I could fit in it, she said it's going to take me forever to fill up, maybe it was 'it better take forever to fill up'.

I thought my 120 qt was silly. I've still only filled like 1/3 of it. Trying to resist smoking from any of my boxes until its full. Have fun filling it!

This cooler is on my short list if I decide to go that route as opposed to a Vino etc...

Keep us updated on your progress

MrClean

Mike, I decided on the cooler route after a lot of deliberation. The vino would look nicer, but we really don't have a place for it. The cooler I can put in my closet, we're getting ready to redo them and it should have a nice built in home when I'm done.

Since the weather is not cooperating, I decided to wash the cooler out in the shower downstairs. It barely fits in the standard shower insert. :r

Temporary resting place until my closet gets redone and I can build an insert for it. I know, I know, it's empty, no sticks in there yet just empties and beads while the hygrometer is calibrating. :noon

Okay, so it doesn't look much different than the last pic. But I have most of my cigars in there, still need to get a couple of empty boxes from the B&M next time I'm out there.
Going to call a lumber supplier in the next week or so to see what spanish cedar runs. It would probably be cheaper to just buy shelves from someone here, but I enjoy making things like that.

I was amazed at how much faster the cooler recovers from having the door open for an extended amount of time. The RH was back to 65% in no time at all.

Looking good Jeff. I would probably just buy the shelves and maybe a drawer from someone on here since the prices seem very reasonable.

Not sure why the color looks so orange. It's actually called Brick Red, and is just that.
Time to get this laptop screen calibrated.
So I won't have any flooring down until we get new carpet in our room. But I'm very pleased with how it all turned out. Now, to see if I can cram all the crap that was in there, back in and keep it looking somewhat organized.

You people are a bad influence, I hate you all. :D

New shelves and drawers from Forrest. They really fit perfectly in the cooler.

I did, but with the arrangement in my closet, decided to only use a minimal base for stability. The drawers will likely go close to the top for easy access, any boxes will be below and hopefully I'll keep my hands out of them. :D

After 10 days at 80% humidity, the shelves and drawers were ready. I was surprised, after seasoning, just touching the shelves, I could feel the difference in them. The dryness was gone and the smell, that much Spanish cedar....it's a truly awesome aroma!
Not sure I'll keep this configuration, but the drawers are pretty well full.

Eli, if I could find another one of these, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I swear I think I bought the last one of these. I got it from Walmart online and a couple of days after that, they were out of stock everywhere. A friend of mine was looking for one and couldn't locate any. I feel pretty lucky to have gotten that one. :tu
