I came home one time to seeing my 4 year old son getting ahold of a 2003 Cohiba DC and a Padron Family Reserve. Luckily, I got home just as he got ahold of them and didn't do any damage to them.

My 4 y/o daughter has come up to me with a cigar out of my cooler and said "dad do you want to smoke and drink whiskey, cause I'll get my crayons and sit outside with you!"

Haha, that's the sort of thing that my 4 year old son would say. It really is one of the best things in the world when your kids are unapologetic about wanting to spend time with you.

You're only safe for now. When the kid gets just a little older they will start trying to tip your cabinet over...

My 5 yr old daughter had one of these, but the paper was all ripped off. She then said it looks like a cigar, and was trying to convince mommy to let her sit out back with me so we "smoke" our cigars.

Too bad with my daughter rather than build stuff with them she would probably smash them instead. I am always trying to show her how to build stuff with her blocks but she finds it more amusing to wait until I am just about done and than she comes over and either kicks it or swings her arm into them like a wrecking ball.:r

Awesome! Did she want to pretend smoke the crayons or just color? If pretend smoking, you might get in trouble with momma!

My boys didn't know I smoked cigars until they were 8. They didn't want me to die. After I assured them I wasn't going to, they're OK with it.

My 4 yr old likes to sit by me when I clean out my humi and smell my cigars. He'll hold then up to his nose and sniff the foot. I'm screwed when he turns 18.

So that's why you like the big ring cigars so much! Lanceros would find their way up there :D

I was looking through the humidor one day when my son was 10, and he saw me and asked, "you getting out a cigar? If so, I'll go grab my fishing gear."

Amazing that he equated the two as intimately tied together as that. :D

haha, when my Dad, Brother, and I are together it's similiar, and rare since one of us is in KY, MI, and I'm in MA. We just kinda slip off to the back deck, and within minutes we're all light up. Drives the Women crazy. Great bond that I wouldn't trade for anything! You're a lucky man! :tu

Oh shoot, great reminder! My grandkids are only a few months old so they aren't mobile yet. All my cabinet doors are child proofed but I forgot about my cigar fridges!

My 5 year old son always has to wear the cigar band as a ring when I'm done smoking. Apparently they give him powers a la He-Man.

Well, my son is 15 (experimental age) so the Liquor, Gun and Cigar cabinets are all Locked up. More for when his friends come over than for him.

We're expecting our first in July and it has definitely occurred to me that I'm going to need to get some stuff organized and put out of sight. The cigars should be fine in the cooler in the closet, but I've got bottles of homebrew all over the house. When he gets to a certain age I'm going to need to keep an active inventory of everything.

I walked into the living room one day and saw my 4 year old sitting on the couch. She had her legs out straight and crossed at the ankles, crayon in her fingers holding it to her lips. I asked "What are you doing?" her reply was "I'm a moking." "We don't smoke" I said, she replied "Aunt Karen does and I do" and she does at age 30.

My youngest has taken over one of my unused corn cobs. She took a pipe cleaner and stuffed it in the bowl and walked up to me asking for a light. I nearly lost my drink. Now when I am out having a cigar as I cook she will come out with her pipe. It is funny how the kids want to imitate us.
