Well as many of you know I am away from home working and somewhere along the way I mentioned to the wife one night that an order of cigars will be coming to the house. During our conversation I also mentioned, said or mumbled....something about being out....almost out....well that was weeks ago and I had forgotten the conversation. Unfortunately my wife had not.
Tonight I got my nightly call, but this time she came out with "I thought you said you were out of cigars, you got two humidors full!" Ok….now at this point in the conversation I should have just stated talking house wives of some place or another, but not me I made the mistake of " but...but,. Honey those are not my daily smokes those have been there for over a year aging....you will immediately see my mistake. I was toast from that point on. No talk of Jimi choo shoes was going to save my butt....the conversation ended with her saying “don’t tell me your out when you’re not”....and me just sounding like an old motor boat...”butbutbutbut”.
I better make that call to Jimi sooner rather than later. Just wanted to share the shame!

hahaha. Nice. Cigars are as mysterious to women as shoes and bags are to men. I have a wife with a closet full of bags that she never uses and shoes that she wore once. This works to my advantage as she has no leg to stand on with my sticks. :)
She'll get over it.
This very very bad. I lucky and not have this problm. Good friends keep for me. You try next time and see.

As long as mine can go junkin' and get stuff to sell, I'm in the clear with my cigars and shaving stuff.

Ouch. I bet she understands the difference if you break down the cost of smoking a daily smoker vs a more costly well aged smoke. On second thought don't go with that argument. Apologize lots and buy more shoes.

Clearly, you have not correctly trained your wife that your cigars are your business and not hers.

I told the wife last Friday when cbid billed the debit card..."that will be the last ones I buy for a while".....little does she know, "A while" is a week....just wait till she sees the bill from this weeks bidding....oh crap! :sl

My wife was kind enough to show me what I spent in the first 3 months, even I was shocked. I said the same thing "that will be it for awhile"........ 2 weeks later, another charge for sticks...... I'm a glutton for punishment. :sl

^^^ Very well said! I could not agree more! I had to "explain" to my wife my passion for cigars and why it is important that I get the time I need to enjoy my hobby and after a while she warmed up to it. Just takes some time...:tu

Yes! This too ^^^ is very true! It helps for me when I "PIF" for my wife. As long as she feels she is put first, she is usually fine with me and smokes! :tu

This is me to a "T". Wife prepared a spreadsheet and I was toast as someone esle put it. Now everytime a box is delivered she scowls and says "more cigars" (with strong negative emphasis I might add). Oh well, after 28 years she gets over it. Steve

My wife's response to my CI bill:
"Now I see what couples fight over money"
Then she walked off...the fight didn't happen, but the point was made! lol oh well...here's to buying more!

My gf (pretty much wife, been together for 7-8 years) has her own cooler of cigars. She was a little upset that I converted the wine fridge to a humi though.
All I gotta do is keep her away from the Cubans. I dont' want to have to worry about my 01 CoLa or other aged smokes disappearing on me.

I have my gars sent to my work. Man im glad i have an office. I take money out in 10 or 20 allotments then i get a visa gift card and use that to order.
I was told that 2 humis full was out. If you don't at least have 2 coolers full you're at DEFCON 4!
LoL my wife does the same. "NO MORE CIGARS" and I don't even have any yet! She's not a fan..but I'm not a fan of purses, shoes, massages, facials, ect. So she doesn't have much choice :)

My wife approves of my habit. I just make sure to preapprove any purchases. *distant sound of whip cracking*
It's a system of checks and balances with us.
She called me the other day and said she went out with my mom and spent 20 bucks at the thrift store and I responded with "Well, I'm in town so I'm gonna run to the smoke shop." She was cool.

Ha its in general forums she wouldn't even need an account to already see it. Blackmail doesn't work if he may of already knew she may stumble upon this site on her own.
As for me,before she started sleeping on couch it wasn't to big deal. At times she'd threaten them when she was mad outa revenge but as for them getting purchased or sent she doesn't say much to me . Its the other people she yacks to that she complains to, and we're not even married. shes just a bad roommate that doesn't pay her end, so like I said she don't have much strength in her dislike of me getting tobacco products. Just the snear here an there you got another package, must be nice. And my reply it is thank you. want to smell it.

Welp I let her know about the $150 Cbid bill that just popped into my account lol. I honestly didn't think I'd win everything I won..including the humidor. She was not amused :sl
Good thing I sold some stuff on eBay and have about $250 sitting in there to transfer over. $150 for the bill...and $100 for the "I'm sorry" bribe :gary

Purses and shoes just amount to what I call the wife tax. She gave up asking me what I spend on cigars and when she comes home new shoes or a purse, I just say how nice they look.
A few years back however was a different story, LOL

i guess i'm a lucky guy too, i turned my wife on to cigars, she likes some of the cao flavour line and a couple of the acids, one or two of the 10 in a tin premiums. more often than not she's asking me if i'm placing an order any time soon caus HER humi is gettin kinda low. cuts into my budget a bit but, hey a couple for her and boxes for me aint a bad deal when there's no grief or misery involved.

Yeah, similar experience here. My wife stumbled upon my brimming coolidor, and she let me have it with both barrels! Needless to say, I'm not allowed to even LOOK at the Devil site right now. :sad

My wife has told me that she doesn't like me smoking cigars.
However, on our last trip to San Antonio, she acquiesced to my stopping at a humidor to pick up some sticks.

She's a very casual smoker, and has her own cooler of infused CAO's. No need to ask me for one of mine, as she doesn't like non-infused cigars :)
