Just finished up a petit robusto. Crushed coffee and dark chocolate. Damn these are good. I'd say these are better than the 09's. Glad I got a box!:)

I'm smoking one right now! I think these will need about 6 mo's of downtime but they're gonna be awesome!:tu

Knowing me, I will torch one with in a day or so of getting them in, then I will put the rest into my coolidor and try to forget about them for a while... hopefully... But no guarantees.

Burned a 2011 today and it was one of the best smokes I've had this year. Bar none. Andre has done it again.

One of Viajes best! If it gets better aged it will be off the scale.

Smoked a 2010 tonight. I honestly had expected more. It was a good cigar but I was expecting it to be amazing. I still may consider looking for another one for next year but I won't save it for a special occasion.

Crazy undead. You have lost your sense of taste and desire for all that is good. Go on about your evil strange ways now. :r

Sadly, this is a common theme for Andre as of late. Most of his stuff has been shipped green as of late IMHO.

I don't think it has to do with being "green" per se John. They had a TON of
rain in Nicaragua this year, so EVERYTHING coming from their is wet! If a cigar has be be delivered to the market by 12/11 then you can't release it 6/12 and expect your customers to be happy about it. Probably right now the best thing
would be to dry box it for a couple of days and then smoke it. I'm gonna try that with one, and report back later in the week.

Smoked my first Viaje Holiday Blend (2010 version) and must have had it built up too much in my mind because it was a slight let down for me. I though it was ok, probably wouldn't seek it out again unless I try a different year that I end up liking better...just my :2
Just to elaborate a bit it didn't seem complex at all, not that it needed to be. It just didn't have any of the flavor profile I expected from what's known as a "holiday stick." I thought I would get some pine, or other holiday spice notes of some sort. Again, it was just my expectation of what I thought it would be like...not a bad smoke IMO but not a great smoke either.

Lots of "negative comments" about this years Holiday Blend. Gonna wait awhile before I smoke some of mine.

What has been your experience with these before Mac (or anyone else who cares to share)? I am curious to know your thoughts because I actually had considered buying some of the 2011 versions. I smoked the 2010 Christmas day and it just tasted like cedar and some spice all the way through. Are they usually much different?

They are usually "spice bombs"...flavorfull, but not very complex. Pretty one dimesnional..all spice, which I love. With a few months on them...they are still spicy but the flavors are much more pronounced. That has been my experience with the 2009 & 2010 release. But, the Skull 'N Bones were the same way and now I don't enjoy any of the red banded ones. I am really hoping Andre didn't mess up a good thing here because these were in my "top 3" sticks of all time.

I guess that was pretty much my experience with it...
For some reason I had it built up in my mind a different way and then when I smoked it, it just didn't seem to hit the spot I had envisioned. I may just grab that fiver I wanted and try them again. I am generally not huge spice fan, just like the right amount so perhaps that's what threw me off. Either way, when you do burn yours, I hope you enjoy brother! :tu

Smoked one 2011. Thought it was all power and no flavor after the first inch or so. Disappointing because I really like the other holiday releases.

Just got a fiver and they smell like they need a little rest. I may light one up this weekend. I usually like the holiday blend so I am hoping these are great.

I know my local place has them in stock - www.justforhim.com.

Shut up Donovan. Keep spreading the word and none of us locally will be able to get any. :sl
Christian is a great guy. Love stopping in there to talk with him. I still haven't picked any of these up yet. Normally I jump on each release with at least a couple to a fiver. Holiday Blend is one of my favorite cigars. I put myself on a buying freeze to smoke what I have already and to pay off some bills. This is killing me though knowing more new stuff is coming.
