Just got the door today from my custom guy. He took creative freedom to stain it. I wanted it stained, but was unsure of color, so I'm glad he made up my mind for me lol. Took some great pictures, but do not have my card reader with. So here are some crappy pics until then:

And he brought me a small sample to show me the profile of what he built for it:

Really excited to get it home and start loading up the Edgestar![/

So, got the door installed last night. Fits PERFECT. Can’t believe how much better the cabinet looks. Well, way better than the broken door the edgestar arrived with lol.

Here’s how it arrived:

And better pics of the new door:

And installed:

Works perfect, except it’s full already… oh well. And I need a couple shelves and a drawer made. Maybe a Christmas idea for the gf to get me.

That's awesome; I have an Edgestar just like that, I never even imagined it could look that good.

That looks AWESOME! The new door really makes it look more like a humidor and less like a wine fridge. I wouldn't be surprised if after seeing this one of the more ambitious forum members starting making these. It wasn't too long ago that wine fridge drawers/shelves were just something that one of the forum members happened to make for themselves. It would be very cool if you could buy a whole conversion kit with door, shelves, and drawers.

This. In spades.

So how much does the converted door cost? Are they available to the common man (meaning me).

Thanks.

I'm working with him on pricing now. As a finish carpenter/furniture builder, he has a minimum of $250. But I'm trying to get him to lower that, since he has the process figured out now. Thing is, he's really busy with larger projects, so he may not budge on price.
