View Full Version : Need a 30 minute cigar

Alright everyone, I'm looking for opinions. I am going to give you some details on what I am looking for, and hopefully you all can help me find what I am looking for.
I need something that is going to last me about 30 minutes; I want to be able to smoke at work during my lunch breaks, but I don't want to waste a good cigar by not having enough time.
Ring gauge and length does not matter to me. Wrapper does not either (I like maduros but I have also really enjoyed cameroons too). Also spicy and sweet both work for me, and I think would work for a lunchtime snack.
I would like it to be medium (not mild, and no so full that I have too much of a nic buzz to head back to work).
Price really doesn't matter too much because I will look until I find it on sale.
I'm really trying to find a good everyday short smoke, so there you have it gents...fire away (please)! Thanks!

Sancho Panza Double Maduro Quixote or Sancho Panza Extra Fuerte Pamplona.
CI says the Extra Fuerte is all strong and ass-kickish. It's hype. Both are very mild on the nicotine and big on flavor. Excellent inexpensive cigars, perfect for your lunch break. :tu

Thanks everyone...I'll do my research tomorrow during my "lunch break" and see which ones will fit me, then head out for some samples. They look like great sticks though!

No love for the Padron Maduro Corticos? I used those all the time for tailgating last year to keep me from blowing so much on more expensive cigars and to keep me from crushing a good cigar in the pocket.

Oliva Series G Special G. Probably more than thirty minutes, but not as spendy as the AF SS so you might not mind as much.

Thanks everyone! I think I am going to try and find the Padron, DPG, CAO LX2, and Olivia's for now and just get 5'ers or tins so I can try them out.
Much appreciated everyone!

I was in search of the same thing and these are the best I found:
#1: Don Pepin Blue Demitase (petite corona) (4.5" x 32)
#2: Arturo Fuente Exquisitos Maduro (4.6" x 30)
I love both of these and they last almost exactly 30 minutes!!!

I have a different strategy from the "small stick, smoke fast" one.
I get out a cheap stick that I like a lot and don't worry if I don't finish it.
Two examples would be Famous Nic 3000 and Arganese Chairman maduro.

Fuente Short Story - or if that's too long given your "puffing frequency", Fuente Exquisitos - they come in both Natural and Maduro.

Cuchillos Cubanos by Illusione. Unlike most, I'm really not a fan of their big sticks, but these little things really do it for me. :2

RP Junior Sungrown
Second these from earlier recommendations:
Fuego Originals - Origens or Gran Reserva Corojos
Tat Ver 5
Add two others:
Partagas Black Prontos
5V A Anomaly (PC)
And, don't overlook the fact that there are at least 4 or 5 CC's in PC size that are fantastic for around 4 to 6 bucks

time is hard to gauge for me. I've been able to smoke a nub in under forty five mins and the same type of nub in well over an hour and a half.
for a small stick JRcigars.com has ther JR ultimate habinito maduro that isn't bad and it's cheap, 24 for 40 bucks. it lasted me about 15-20 mins just taking my time on it.

I mostly smoke short smokes now a days. Lately the best for me have been any of the Petite Corona's made by CAO. I have been enjoying the LX2, Brazilia, MX2 and Italias. As you can tell, I prefer maduro... lol These are all 4"x38 ring.
Also the Cohiba Black Pequenos are pretty solid as well. They are 4.1"x36 but I find they smoke a little shorter, perhaps less compacted.
Either way you should be good tho, 30-40 minutes max on one of these, unless you nub all of your cigars.

Another thing you could do is cut a lancero
in half. Then you could smoke just about any blend,
and only buy 1/2 of the cigars.

Cabaiguan Petites and Tatuaje Petit Tatuajes are small, demitasse sized sticks that I've loved. You can find both on the devil site for around $15-17 for a fiver. For the size, I was pleasantly surprised at how good they were.
Zino by Davidoff also has a cigar this size for quite cheap on the devil site as well, but I'd put that in the mild range.
