Meijer is a supermarket/retail chain, it's the competitor to WALMART, they are open 24/7 and carry the same things as WALMART, however their meat section is much better and I believe they have a better selection on most items. I usually do it just so I can treat it like a layaway, put down $5 then pay on it or trade games in towards before the release date. I had Batman paid off in July (before I jumped in with both feet with cigars).

Me either, never actually seen a game 'sold out' at any store I have been to, hours or even days after it comes out. Per-order, so you can stand in line at midnight and trade a card for a game, or wait 15 minutes until all the pre-orders are filled and just get one. :sh

Now if we can just get all you slappies to the XBox side ;)

Has anyone found they are dying more than normal? I usually end up in the top three (2nd or 3rd more than first) but im finding myself very erratic in this game. Ill finish second at 22-12, and then next match i'll be sixth and 12-14.

Yep. It is so fast paced. Try forcing yourself to slow down. Also, I am getting a TON of lag.

I loved HC in MW2 but hated it in BO, it seemed like it took more skill to play HC in MW2 and it just felt like a mess to me in BO because all of MW2s noob tubers would play HC so they could still get kills. My favorite game type in BO was CTF, loved it.
I hope you get to play MW3 soon, that is cruel to have it just sit there staring at you!

Alright, finally made the time to break this open and get a bit of play time in. I've only played about 30 mins of campaign and 30 mins of multiplayer and so far this blows Black Ops out of the water.... thankfully.

As discussed previously, I was impressed with the gameplay graphics and storyline of MW2 but the multiplayer was unbalanced and left a lot to be desired. Black Ops provided a better and more balanced multiplayer experience but failed in all other areas. I was disappoint. LOL

Thus far, MW3 is looking and feeling amazing. I have high hopes for the continued play :tu

better graphics IMHO...Weapons sound sick...and every game feels like Hardcore because you get two or three good shots in and they are down! I've gotten used to it Tyr. I think you'll enjoy it after the initial learning curve of feel and speed.

I have mixed feelings about this game. I love the faster paced action than Black Ops. I agree that it feels more like hardcore which I like. It's easier to get kills.

What I like:
1. Strike packages are ok. I like that you earn your killstreaks even if you die and since the killstreak kills don't count towards higher killstreaks like in MW2, people won't be able to camp nukes.

What I don't like:
1. Lvl 80 prestiges? Are you F'n kidding me?
2. Way too many perks and weapon proficiencies. The marksman perk adds a big name that covers their body.
3. One of my biggest gripes against MW2 was how difficult it was to unlock the various guns attachments and this one was even worse. Now you have to level up each weapon. I prefered the black ops currency format better so you could buy whatever attachment you wanted. I saw a survey and apparently weapon proficiency was one of the most liked new features. IMO, I think it's the worst.
4. No serious improvement in graphics
5. The killstreaks are largely MW2. I would have hoped they would merged the ones from MW2 and Black Ops (attack dogs, RC-XD, etc).
6. Really bad lag on PS3
7. Only 2-person online play in PS3
8. I hoped they would add mouse & keyboard support by this time, but I don't think they did
9. The maps are limited so you can't jump on cars or certain spots. I suppose they did this to prevent people from finding camping spots in strange spots. I just found it odd. Some maps I thought to myself I could jump over that box or car and it wouldn't jump onto those items.

I am an old school PC geek and PC gamer. My sister's Xbox 360 got the infamous RRoD (Red Ring of Death). She sent it in once to MS. The second time she got it, it was out of warranty. Her husband tried to fix it but it didn't last long. Anyway, she told me that if I could fix it I could have it. Apparently she bought a new one for her kids for Christmas. Well, I'll save you the details, but I have it working consistently thanks to some heatsink and fan mods.

Now I'm trying to figure out what to do with it. She's keeping the accessories for her new Xbox. I'm going to get one wireless controller and the hard drive since it's not compatible with the new Slim model. I've researched the XIM3. It seems expensive at $150, but in the long run it's a LOT cheaper than building a gaming PC. Plus, most of my friends are on Xbox 360 and I'm itching to own them with a mouse and KB. I regularly get wrecked when I try to compete using the regular controller. The lack of accuracy is overwhelming to me. As I learn maps I have been able to at least keep even with them, but as a PC gamer I feel like I'm walking in wet concrete and overcorrecting every adjustement to my aim like a drunk driver doing 160 mph. XIM3 seems like the perfect solution. I've read some of the cheaper alternatives aren't nearly as successful in providing a PC game feel. If anyone has used one or knows someone who does I'd love to hear some feedback. The cost is even more than anticipated once you read the fine print stating you have to provide your own wired (Microsoft brand) controller to plug the XIM3 into.

I think I'm going to take the plunge. So, if anyone has a wired Microsoft brand Xbox 360 controller they are willing to part with PM me. In the meantime I'm going to see about getting the XIM3 and MW3. Although I might have to put them on my Christmas wishlist and wait.

So far it's a good B+ game for me. The entire COD series is over re-used. But they sold 6.5 million copies on first day, so I don't think Activision is trying to change the formula when they've banked so far.

Really loving this game for the multi-player action. The action is fast paced and well-balanced IMO. There's plenty of rushing still going on this early from the release but it seems that the snipers are starting to find their groove. I pretty much only play Hardcore TeamDeathmatch so I'm speaking only about that particular mode. But damn I'm loving it.

I just got the Kleptomaniac title yesterday. The one with the 2 S&M looking chicks :D Had to Kill 3 different people with 3 different weapons in one life. That was fun!

I also hate the quick scoping. Hairs not even close to my body when I view after I die and blammo...fix that chit! I like this game. I've only played about 30 minutes of the campaign and the rest on multi-player. I actually play with Drez most of the time.

Unfortunately, the guns are nearly identical to MW2, at least the ones I use (ACR, RASS). It just seems that I can't hit anyone, but I can get shot by the first bullet out of another person's gun. :tf

Man i was just going to ask this. All the other CoD i would avg 1.5ish K/D and I'm .6 right now. MW2 and MW3 are camper friendly, that's one thing I liked about BO maps that somewhat discouraged camping.

One other thing I like is how they made the claymores one-button to deploy. On the console versions, I always thought it was dumb to push one button to use a claymore, then the fire button to set it down. If I'm pushing a dang button to use a claymore, that's where I want it. The trophy system isn't this way though. It's not something major and probably only PC gamers would notice when converting to console, but it drives me crazy.

The camping problem doesn't seem to be as prevalent in Hardcore TDM. But I think this is mostly due to the fact that most who play HC TDM are going for a high kill count and an impressive K/D ratio. You can't really achieve that camping.

Never used the grenade launcher in MW3 yet, nor do I count on using it. I use heartbeat sensor for people who do not use assassin, people call me "noob" for using it, but it's their fault for not countering. Countering and balance is a huge factor in MW3 as said by the developers.

Now to combat the campers, I usually use a class with flash and impact to shoot through the walls.

I got a kill in the similar scenario in Black Ops. I was dead, care package landed on his head for the game winner. Also got a couple kills on MW2 with Emergency Airdrop crates. :tu

I haven't tried them on the Xbox yet, I play MW3 on the PS3 and so far there have not been any problems. I absolutely LOVE them. My K-D ratio has definitely gone up and it makes the game that much more enjoyable and immersive. Although the very first game I played with them I did horribly as all I did was wander around and listen to the things within the map LOL

Hardcore, there is no UAV, no respawn kill cam, less damage to kill. It takes more skill, but not everyone can see where they got shot from or notice you on the contant UAV. If you want points to rank-up, play Domination and just get flags. :tu

Surround sound is a must if you actually use your ears when you play, meaning if you pay attention for footsteps running behind the wall you're facing. It's not necessity, but it helps when you start relying on more than just your eyes. Turtle Beach is a rather overpriced headset, however they do make good products and of course they're one of the sponsors for Call of Duty. Astro (http://www.astrogaming.com/) is the official sponsor of MLG, Major League Gaming, which is the competitive league. You can always go for Plantronics, Logitech, Sennheiser, Creative, Tritton, Sharkoon, Steelseries or Razor. I use the MK14 with success at all ranges, I used to use the P90. The MK14 works great with CQ hip fires and mid range it is a beast. Long range sometimes takes an extra shot but still really effective. I love the MK14!!! My KDR is climbing fast after switching from the P90. I believe my KDR with the P90 was like 1.04 and with the MK14 it is just under 2.0

So I just checked my stats on COD Elite and with the P90 my KDR was 1.03 and with the MK14 it's 1.74, I don't think I will ever go back to the P90 even though I do have fun with it.

I play HC TDM almost exclusively. My go-to gun is the ACR 6.8 Great for mid-long range and the recoil is damn near non-existant. For my Assassin class I use it with attachments and put on the red dot sight and the silencer. The rest of the class is rounded out with Blind Eye, Assassin and Dead Silence perks.

They definetly help. I do not use them but Thump3r does and he heres the enemy sneeze and then fold up the tissue.

I know what you're saying, I have a very nice set of pc ones that I used in my Counter-Strike days. Frankly if I'm not competing in tournaments then I don't need anything fancy.

There are adapters that allow you to plug regular headphones into a Xbox 360 controller. Search on E-bay, they're about $5. Then you can use your PC set on Xbox.

Alright, I started playing hardcore and I like it a lot better than the standard games. I like being able to kill someone with one good shot. The only issue I have is that it seems more people get the helicopter and start shooting people from the sky.

I have been playing a lot of KC, might try more Deathmatch next.

I recently unlocked the Type 95 and I love this gun. I have been using it on the smaller maps while I use the Dragunov on the larger ones where I can use the sniper rifle. I am at level 18 or so with the sniper and am working my way up on the Type 95.

While I still suck, at least I feel more competitive. I am getting closer to a 1:1 ratio in my recent games. Usually 6 to 8 kills and 8 or so deaths. Which is a lot better than when I started. I enjoy hardcore every once in a while, but I feel that in standard mode you have to be more precise to kill someone. In hardcore I can pick someone off with my usp just as easy as my p90. I can pretty much shoot someone in the foot with an mk14 and they'll pretty much die. If only they had a mode that is friendly fire with no radar, but weapon strengths are similar to standard.

The hit boxes and registry in MW2 were the most precise and accurate, what you shot is what you hit with pretty much no compensation for lag. In Black ops they tried to adjust it by making the hit boxes smaller and made bullet registry for latency factors of other players a bit better, which in turn made it a little harder to kill. In MW3 it's somewhere in between. The big thing is that the hit boxes of MW3 tend to lag behind the player so you can still hit the player after they run past your sights.

A proper host of a game (one with the fantastic connection) and a speedy client side connection will generate less bullet lag if the person is not skipping around already. With that being said check your internet connection to ensure you are doing the best you can.

Connection does matter. I have not seen to many bad connections that actually created lag in MW3 though. I have only have a handfull of matches that I experienced any lag.

Connection does matter quite a bit in online games, but more so in non dedicated servers. Games where there is a host such as MW3 the persons entire internet connection matters (download, upload, and ping). Their connection might be fine and dandy in the lobby, but once you enter the game, the amount of people might overload their already crappy connection and cause everyone to lag versus just the one person with bad connection

Yes and no. Faster internet = better registry, less lag time for your bullets. When a person lags and your shooting them, it has to compensate for that and that's where MW3 kind of slacks in my opinion. So he'll probably fire at you before your bullets hit. That being said their bullets must also compensate for their poor latency so it's a lose lose for them.

2 new maps coming for multi-player on the 24th of this month :tu Piazza and Liberation. Liberation will be set in Central Park NY with long sight lines for snipers and more methodical COD players whereas Piazza will be set in Italy and will be geared towards the "run n gun" style players.

I'm hoping they will be released for both consoles at the same time. I always hate having to wait.

Nice, I purchased the COD Elite Premium so all my MW3 DLC is paid for forever (Well an annual fee)! There was talk about releasing DLC every month for 9 months after they get going.

That's the way I play it as well. I love actually putting myself into the game and trying to play it tactically to maximize my chances of survival. I don't always get the highest kill-counts but I usually get the fewest deaths and have pretty good KD ratio :tu

That's why I play CTF. It is the only game type I don't find many people playing other than to win!
Most of my friends play TDM or Dom but there are always people running around goofing off and not caring if they win or lose, that drives me nuts. I don't have fun losing.

I am only on my first prestige as well. I don't play all the time, but I do enjoy playing with a solid team. I love to take the lead and come up with a game plan, very rewarding when it works.

I don't think that's quite how synthetic lag works. The idea for the host and a couple geographically nearby by people with good ISP connections trucking everyone else isn't very appealing to the masses. The host's ping (or more accurately his latency) is 0 milliseconds. People within 150 miles and good ISPs can hang in the low 30-40ms range. Folks outside that no matter what ISP (well almost) will be usually double that; 60-70ms with good ISP, or 120ms+ if on an average ISP. The guy who's 3,000 miles away with an average ISP could be well over 200ms.

The idea or synthetic lag or as MW3 coins it "lag compensation" is to force a minimum amount of lag for everyone. I'm sure their concept of compensation is further reaching than that, to account for the factors already mentioned with physics within the game. However, most any game will force a minimum lag just to level the playing field. Having a low latency like 30-40ms is a big advantage for an average player. It's HUGE for a good player. Having no latency (hosting) is even greater of an advantage.

While it would appear that lag compensation would eliminate this advantage, it doesn't do so completely. The people who have low latency, say below 70, will have their's bumped to a flat level where it will stay. Lets use 100 as the base. However, latenacy isn't static, it fluctuates. So if your latency is 70ms and it is adjusted by compensation to 100, you'll always be at 100ms. Even if your lag increases to 80 or 90, it will only adjust you to that 100ms level. This give one important thing, predictability. Those who's latency is above that 100ms line in the sand will fluctuate usually within a 20-50ms range. It will be more difficult for them to adjust. So there's still an advantage for the host and certain others, but lag compensation helps level the field.

BTW, this is not a new concept. PC games have been using similar technology for over 10 years.

Sorry. I sometimes get bored (lack of action) and resort to my old PC gaming days when FPS weren't tactical at all. It was all about speed. I can do circles around people in CQB. Especially with the PM90 with rapid fire but my K/D ratio takes a pounding. That weapon has no range or hitting power at all.

Lately however I've grown to like the ACR 6.8 and a more deliberate approach.

I'm just saying good luck with it, out of everyone I know only 1 person hasn't had to replace their XBox at least once (maybe people on the boards have better luck). The ps3 is just too useful.

The PS3 serves as my media hub. Like ucubed said, it is the only console that can stream in at 1080 (but the NEW xbox has that capability as well) With my setup- old xbox new PS3, the PS3 has better graphics. So from a streaming media standpoint, the PS3 is the better console..

You just have to weigh your options, what are you looking for? A media hub with gaming, or a gaming console with media?

I do that frequently. I find that later in the evening, the easier the lobbies get and I back out less frequently. I tend to back out of lobbies that have a bunch of players with a 2+ KDR.

I'm a Nintendo fanboy, so I don't have a dog in the XBOX vs. PS fight, (although I have all three Playstations and never owned an XBOX:D) but 4GB is just not enough space for saves and downloads on a console. If you do decide to go with the XBOX over the PS3, make sure you get one with more storage.

I Like both of those maps. Got a 80-22 with a third round in demolition for Dome last time I played.

Dome is really good for camping. You can often align yourself with the openings where the other team has to come out and just sit there and fire.

Maps that are growing on me - I typically use an assault rifle on these (G36C)
