A little late to the party, but I think they have earned their own thread, instead of us going and poking the sleeping bear in the NYY thread. :)

Basing its report on FBI statistics, Forbes has just released its list of the most violent cities in America. With 1,111 violent crimes per 100,000 people, Detroit once more tops the list at No. 1.

If the Tigers have any further success, or even if they fail, their fans are likely to burn that bandwagon in the streets. :r

Yes it is, and I'm glad for that. Mo needs some rest after throwing 3 pitches back in Game One, and I want him ready if the chance comes to slam the door. ;)

Blackhawks weren't playing, Game 5 all the way!

What a great game...Girardi's revolving bullpen almost worked. Great pitching by the Tigers, Valverde getting the Big 3 in the 9th was clutch.

Wow, the Tigers are getting a some Yankee and Anti-Yankee love.

:D

I think the TBS guys said that the Tigers are the first team to beat the Yankees in two playoff appearences in a row since the 1920s. Granted the last time was 2006, but since that was the Tigers' last trip, it is "consecutive".

They say to be the best you have to beat the best. While some may debate who was the best this season, the Yankees have been very good for many years. I'm glad we got past them and get to move on. It was a good series. Bring on the Rangers.

In all seriousness, the Rangers pitching needs to step it up a bit. The Tigers have some great hitters, and if Wilson pitches the way he did against the Rays, there's two games lost. It will be a great series. Could go either way.

Regardless of his double yesterday, Jackson has been pitiful all playoffs, almost an automatic K.

Avila needs to figure something out too.

Joe Buck and TF said they didn't think Young being out of the line-up was that bad with Raburn in. I disagree, especially in a hitter's park like the Rangers'.

Detroit Tigers outfielder Delmon Young has been scratched from Detroit's lineup for Game 3 against Texas, manager Jim Leyland announced Tuesday.

Andy Dirks will replace Young.

Yeah he did. That's the kind of outing he's had 8 of 9 times after arriving in Detroit. His numbers were actually better than Verlander's for the last 6 weeks or so.

Crazy, but it turns out the Tigers' lack of timely hitting kills them again. They should have won that game before extra innings. Hopefully Verlander can keep hopes alive until the bats wake up.
