I am starting to think about next years vacation so I am considering an All-Inclusive resort since all I want to do is lay around and eat and drink.
Does anyone have any recommendations or advice?

Went to Sandals White-house in Jamaica it was nice. The travel agent told us that Sandals was like Disney you pay extra for the name. Are you taking kids or not? You can also check TripAdvisor.com once you find a resort you like to see what other travelers think.

We've had good luck with Rex Resorts. We really liked Hawksbill on Antigua

Adults Only and check tripadvisor.com Look at the pictures and read the bad reviews to see why people claim to hate it. :2

A cruise?

A cruise is out of the question. Not a big fan at all

Ive stayed at RIU Paradise Island Bahamas twice and have enjoyed it very much. Its right next to Atlantis. You get access to alot of Atlantis such as the casino and the sweet but expensive Havana Humidor cigar store with out dealing with all of the screaming kids. Food, booze and service were very good as well.

Sandals is nice because it is adults only and all inclusive drinks food and most activities. You will need to look at what is offered and what you want to do. Remember if you book in the off season you will get some great deals but you will also be subject to why it is the off season possible hurricanes rain winds etc.. Get Trip Insurance Just incase. But Even if you are at an all inclusive get out and explore the area.

A lot of places they will have more than one resort in each town. The older ones are usually cheaper but still let you access the amenities at the newer ones. Just something to look at when you're planning.

I have been to the Sandals Royal Carribean in Nassau twice (10 days and 14 days), and it was awesome. Food is great, top shelf booze is free, they don't accept tips (gotta "sneak" them), and they treat you like royalty. I highly recommend it.

Biras Creek on Virgin Gorda, BVI. $$$$ very expensive though. You won't find as many all inclusive places, but in my experiences, Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke in the BVI are unbeatable as far as Caribbean destinations go.

I recommend that you go to Eden and get the Pelican Package. ;)

Stayed at the RIU in Jamacia a couple of years ago. That was my first experience with an all-inclusive and loved it. Eat, drink, relax ... do whatever you want.

In fact, I'm headed to the Cozumel Palace later this week with a bunch of friends from work. It looks nicer than the RIU and I'm really looking forward to it.

+1 Spent my honeymoon there, too. The one we went to was in Ocho Rios. Awesome food, room, atmosphere, etc. We'd go back tomorrow if we could. The ride from Montego Bay to the resort is better than any carnival ride out there.

Wife and I really enjoyed Couples Negril as well. Their all inclusive really does include everything (scuba, snorkeling, cat cruise, etc), we went to Sandals Mo Bay on our honeymoon. We enjoyed it then but have heard it has gone downhill. We are going to Riu Palace Tropical Bay in Negril at the end of the month for a friends wedding. We have seen the property before since it is right next door to Couples. I think I will like couples better.
We have also done a few AIs in Mexico. The Iberostars in Riviera Maya are nice. We enjoyed them.
Like everyone else says, check Tripadvisor reviews of any places you are considering. Take the negatives with a grain of salt. People complain about the littlest things on there.

If you where at all considering any non-all inclusive I can recomend a beautiful private resort in St. Lucia that me and my wife stayed in for our honeymoon.

My honeymoon was at Palace Resort in Cancun, I believe Sun (no kids) and my friends just got back from the Isla Mujeres Palace Resort... both all-inclusive and both Adults Only... they were both absolutely amazing! And the good part is no eating a "sit-down" meal only 3 times during the week, in fact we hit several of the restaurants for different courses... sushi for apps, steak or seafood for dinner and the italian restaurant for dessert... it was amazing!

Check out the Moon Palace in the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. Of course, I was on my parents' dime when I went there about 8 years ago, so I can't say whether it was reasonable or not.
