Anyone listen to this show? I see it's fairly new.

And by the looks of the pictures on their Facebook page, they don't smoke cigars during the show....kind of dumb. I can understand why, but still.

Is it worth a listen and checking out?

It's getting better but still not great in my opinion. A lot of droning on. Being it is Abe from Smoke Inn they do get great guests. They could use to ditch Lady M as she adds no worthwhile content to the show in my opinion. I think they just wanted a pretty face associated with the show and even that's a stretch. They probably don't smoke during the show because they are live from a local radio station studio. It is starting to get better and they will be moving to another station soon so they can do a two hour show which I am not sure if that will help or hurt the show. You can download the shows on Itunes now. I still prefer to listen to the Blowing Smoke podcast for cigar related listening but even they were a little hit and miss at the beginning so I think with time they will get much better.

Dog Watch is an older one and I gave them another shot about a year ago but they have yet to improved their audio so I wrote it off. When I listened years ago the content was pretty good but the audio often times made it unlistenable.

Yeah, their production is complete crap. And there's too much dead air and too much "uhs, ums, hmms" and whatever else.

Plus the little debate they had saying there's no such thing as a "pretty good" cigar. What a crock of shipoopy. Let people enjoy cigars however they want and let them say whatever they want. Not everyone is an @$$ kisser and will agree with whatever they say.

With some good equipment, a good podcast from home is possible. You just have to know how to do it. I would think you do a couple, listen back, and tweak them a little before you air them.

I DL'ed KMA, and will DL the other ones. Need a good pro-cigar podcast to pass the time at work.

Hey Gang,

Just going to pop in here. Thanks for the comments and feedback of the show. We completed our first 13 weeks and what a learning experience it was. It definitely is a work in progress. We are gearing the show to be more of a Lifestyle show, and being we are all into cigars that is part of our theme.

In our light it up section we talk about the cigars we will be smoking that morning. Yes, we cannot smoke in the studio. We are currently in construction of a new 4000 sqft free standing building that will be our NEW headquarters due to open next year. We are building a studio in the store and our plan is that the show will be done remotely in our store done in front of a live audience where WE CAN SMOKE. =)

The new 2- hour format will MANY new segments such as

The Bloggers Corner: We invite different Bloggers each week to come on the air and review a cigar giving their unbiased opinion.

The Fray: A short section dealing with current political climates

Ask Lady M: Another short section in Lady M replying to emails or callers seeking relationship advice

Dummy Dialers: you will have to listen to these yourself because if i explain it to you, you would never believe me.

All in all guys, everything we try to do is about having a good time. That is the mood we try to express on the show. Your feedback is always appreciated and will help us make a better show overall. I look forward to any comments as we get a few of the new 2 hour shows out there.

Neoflex,...Guilty as charged. If I am going to be stuck in a studio for 2 hours, Lady M is definitely good to look at and she does add the sensitive maternal side to the show. She has a terrific fan base and some hardcore followers already. As far as her being a stretch for a pretty face......well I guess I should be hanging out with you on the
weekends! =)

You are absolutely right about the 2 hours. That was the number one complaint we got from everyone. At first we thought ...."wow..what r we going to talk about for an hour"

We soon found ourselves running out of time every show and cutting segments we wanted to air. So we are definitely exited about the new format.

Thanks for chiming in Abe and giving us some insight of what will become of the two hour show and sorry if I offended you but I was just giving my honest input. I do feel like the show if getting better every week as I mentioned earlier. I imagine it can be challenging to put an entertaining show together live every week where you don't get to cut down and edit content. I know I wouldn't be able to knock it out of the park right out of the box. Someone just asked for an opinion and I gave mine honestly. Sometimes being up front and honest does have it's drawbacks. I will also be honest and say I have listened to every show so far and plan on continuing to listen and watch how it developes as it is definitely headed in the right direction and improving. And no it's not like I am not hanging out with supermodels every weekend by any means and I don't doubt that Lady M has her fan base. A woman who smokes cigars can be very appealing in itself to many but I honestly feel like she has yet to add any useful content to the show other than being the female voice. Again, just being honest even if it makes me the bad guy. I am not saying anything here that I would be afraid to tell you in person. Hell, my wife tells me all the time I am too blunt at times and should consider using a filter when speaking.:D
I do wish you guys the best of luck with the show and look forward to the longer shows and when you are able to broadcast from your own studio as you will be able to give instant reviews and feedback on what you are smoking as your working your way through sticks. Again, hopefully I did not offend you as that was not my intention as I know when things are posted on a public forum that anyone can read them and never doubted that you yourself may have read my feedback. I guess I could have and should have kept my opinions of Lady M to myself but again, I really need to learn to use a filter. ;)

I just thought you might of been harsh on Lady M....while she is new to Radio, she knows enough about Smokes (She Manages our Montecristo Lounge at the PGA National Resort), but your are right...she definitely needs to work her personality more into the show. Of course, what we listen to or watch is obviously totally subjective, but since I'm sipping my bourbon anyway, and already talking mad smack tonight, I have to say that I find Kiss My Ash to be a great contribution to a lazy saturday and it makes me want to call in and start yappin. It also makes me giggle a lot. I can imagine that only a true cigar lover, and entertainer, such as Abe would take all the time and effort to craft a show like this. Kudos, SKINNY BOY !!

Abe is a good BOTL, when I won the gift certificate I didn't want to blow my wad on 1 sampler so I emailed him and he was very quick to respond back and he understood my dilemma and let me call the shop speak to Brandon 'The Mic" and order singles. It was about Pete Johnson's interest in the wine industry and trying to make a true vintage with all the leaves used originating on one farm. I have no idea if this is true but it is how I have heard it. It is how the question was answered and then the host repeated the same thing almost as if it was answered wrong.

Guys, JD,...thank you for the kind words! It definitely is not easy and takes time out of our week. The "Mic", Lady M, and myself really do it mostly because we love what we do and enjoy sharing that fun with anyone who will listen.

When I listen to some of the other shows i can't help falling asleep in 10-15 minutes, so we try to keeping it moving with a variety of segments. While 1 or 2 might not be your favorite, the other 4 or 5 are great.

The quirky girls singing (which neither is Lady M) we thought was a little funny....those will probably change soon...

As far as the commercials....we are not sales people...so we didn't waste time getting a multitude of advertisers. We got them as quickly as we could. The downside of that is the same commercials will play every week (through the next 19 shows) While it may be repetitive....these are the companies who supported the show and made it possible for us to air. There are over 30 brands advertised, so i am not sure why anyone would feel it is slanted towards any one brand. I hope the companies who supported the show get as much exposure as possible....in my opinion the rightfully deserve it.

All in all, thanks guys for the feedback. your input will help us continue to find ways to improve the show for your entertainment!

I wasn't saying the ads are slanted towards only a couple brands, my problem is I downloaded all the shows and listened to them back to back and now have the commercials stuck in my head and know them almost word for word (I guess thats good marketing, just annoying, haha). Now that I am caught up on past episodes I am sure only listening once a week will make the commercials seem much less.

I don't dislike any segments, in fact The Frey has got me paying a little more attention to what is going on. I love Christian's passion, he cares about the country! And you do too.

The two hour shows have really opened up the show and they have become much more enjoyable than the one hour version. The one hour shows didn't allow enough time for the show to get rolling IMHO. The dummy dialers have had me cracking up too.
I'm just mad I missed out on the Ferel Flying Pig when Marvin was on the show a couple weeks ago.:D I got through right away and was still too late.:r My call must have gotten caught up at the water tower. :D

It's nice to hear a review for a change, when I normally read one.

I still listen, it's gotten better. Still has its negatives but definitely has its positives. So I'm still listening because I'm sure it'll only get better.

Of course everyone has their own opinion on it and it's not bad to criticize. I'll leave that up to everyone else now.

The two hour shows have really opened up the show and they have become much more enjoyable than the one hour version. The one hour shows didn't allow enough time for the show to get rolling IMHO. The dummy dialers have had me cracking up too.
I'm just mad I missed out on the Ferel Flying Pig when Marvin was on the show a couple weeks ago.:D I got through right away and was still too late.:r My call must have gotten caught up at the water tower. :D

I have an MUWAT not sure of the size, will have to look, and I have an Undercrown....which is still resting in my humidor. I haven't tried any of the Liga Privada's yet, but I'm looking forward to them. I had my 1st1st Acid One yesterday...amazing smoking experience.
