Thank you, brother. For us "infidels" ( ;) ), can you educate us as to the meaning and significance of this holiday?

Today (or yesterday) was Eid al-Fitr, the marking of the end of Ramadan. (I think).

Either way, Eid Mubarak, akhy!

We had the traditional Bosnian end of Bajrum feast last night at a friend's house. I'm still full...

Anyway, Bajrum barecula to you! (that's the only language I know how to say it in, so that's what you get ;) )

thanks, haha you :P, we,muslim celebrate eid fit rite after we finish fasting for a month. In muslim calendar, the nineth month is the ramadan and we are required to fast from early in the morning(around 6am) until evening(around 7pm).In this duration,we cannot eat, drink, smoke, having sex,no bad talk, bad attitude and always be patient and try to do good did.Its all about self-control.It is also considered to be a way of experiencing what hunger is all about, sympathizing with the poor and the needy, and thanking god for everything we have received in life.

so once the fasting month end,we celebrate the joy of being able to fulfill our duty to god.at this time,we meet together, greet each other,as forgiveness and forgiving everybody, start from zero and so on .so thats a Eid fit :) and in Malaysia we practice what we call open house,we prepare a lot of meal and offer everybody to come to our house and having a meal... some just limit to friends and family, some go beyond and invite anybody, strangers, muslim or not..everybody can come...

Today (or yesterday) was Eid al-Fitr, the marking of the end of Ramadan. (I think).

Either way, Eid Mubarak, akhy!
