Here it is Monday after noon and the latest projection has Irene to coming right over Charleston as a cat 3, probably early Sat morning. It's still early, I know. So much for my long weekend in Santee playing in a golf tourney. Looks like I need to get some things in order before the shelves empty.

I hope it keep moving east and missed you man. It was supposed to hit us here at GTMO and looks like it is going to go just north of Cuba. All we might get is some rain.

Damn... I leave the state to go to Ohio, and the whole place goes to hell in a handbasket.

If things hit you guys hard, you have your choice of places to stay for free in Columbia...

Shove it this way. We could use a hurricane in South Texas...

Prayers sent to all our Brothers and Sisters on the East Coast. This could be a bad one.

We have shark fishing scheduled for Fri...hopefully no "Perfect Storm" scenarios. I'm not planning on going down with the boat. On the plus side, my wife already is casting Penelope Cruz in her role.

The good news is these things hardly ever do what they are suppose to. Hopefully it just goes back out to sea.

Was hoping for a bit of a rain event, that said I can do without the wind.

Hope it is a non event for everyone in the region, but most of the models (http://www.stormpulse.com/atlantic and select "forecast models") show it either hitting pretty much dead center or not too far away.

Don't forget Milk and bread. No disaster prep is complete without milk sandwiches! Also, you'd better go by Palmas and pick up a good supply of cigars before they get blown away!!!:D:dr:dr

IT seems to me from my arm chair up in the Northwest, with the La Nina in the Pacific and the super hot weather out east and midwest, there seems to be pretty good fixins for so serious hurricanes this season... Hope this one dodges you and you can kick it out side on Sunday and have a smoke.

As Black Hawk Down would say, "Irene...I say again Irene" "F'ing Irene!"

Have some friends that were staying in Puerto Rico when it hit. Sounded like they made it through it. Hope everyone else does that's in it's way.

You know I'd be there, the whole Irons clan plus the Beagle. I'm staying to look after the castle unless it says cat 4. Cat 4 and I head to south GA to stay with my MIL. I'm gassed up, got plenty of food in the freezers and frigs, sitting on two propane tanks, generator is on standby, Coleman lanterns are primed, and even have 3/4" plywood to cover all the windows, which I cut during 2004 and have yet to need them (thank the Lord!). It's all a waiting game now. Sadly for others north of me, it looks like it's peeling east to the NC barrier islands. Those guys take it on the chin all the time.

Like others have said, hopefully it spins back out to sea, but either way stay safe!

Get ready NC, Virginia, and the rest of you coasties heading north. Looks like it's tracking that way. Be safe out there. A cat 1 hurricane near NYC will be a crazy event, especially after an earthquake yesterday.

Prayers sent for those in the possible path of this storm. Be smart folks. You can always replace stuff, not true of people.

looks like a nasty couple of days on the east coast. I'm on standby for deployment "somewhere".

All from SC to MA stay informed and stay prepared!

It's suppose to hit my neck of the woods on Sunday. They say it could be up to 85 mph winds and a ton of rain. The rain I can handle, not sure I'm ready for the wind. This kind of thing doesn't happen in these parts.
